The Twins

Chapter 7

   The next morning Onyx and Raven woke up to the smell of fresh meat and eggs sizzling on an open fire. They both got up and went to see what the intoxicating smell was, when they found it their mom was cooking what looked like steak but when they got closer they saw a dead dear close by. Onyx had backed away from it in fear, remembering what had happened a few nights before, Raven on the other had had walked straight for the dear crouched down in front of it and whispered, "I'm sorry."

   Ruby saw how normal Raven had acted when she had saw the dead animal and grew concerned and asked, "Just what did you do before you came here?"

   Raven then looked right at her mom then her brother still standing in shock, waving her hand to motion Ruby over, they both walked into the trees leaving Onyx to calm down.

"I'll tell you but you have to promise that you won't tell Onyx." said Raven with a strict tone.

"I promise, now just what did you see?"

"Ok, this was when I had already talked to my wolf, she let me see what she was doing while I wasn't able to. Two men had shown up holding guns and what looked like knives in their hands, they were about to shoot when wolf had jumped at them and so did Onyx in his form."

   Ruby was so surprised that she had trusted her wolf just like that to fight and just sit back and watch. Also, that the wolf revealed herself so early to Raven just didn't sit to well with her. As Raven kept explaining what had happened it kept getting worse and worse. "After I saw my wolf and Onyx's wolf jump at the I heard a shot then everything went red, almost like she didn't want me to see what brother did."

   "How did you know she didn't want you to see your brother and not her?"

   "Because she said I didn't need to see what was happening plus she wasn't moving she was just sitting there. Waiting until she could let me see what was happening." Raven said with a grim look on her face, almost as if she saw something she didn't want to remember ever again.

   Ruby saw her expression and didn't ask her for any more details but was still worried about the wolf showing Raven that she could transform so early. She was then curious if He was back because he sensed the twins power. She then had nodded and started to walk away but the she was stopped by something wrapped around her. Raven was hugging her with tears in her eyes, all that ruby could do was turn around and hug her back feeling terrible that she made her daughter remember something that most adults couldn't live with seeing.
