Lifeboat

Stuck on an island,
I feel like I'm drowning into a pit if quicksand,
At times like this, I might need a helping hand,
So I'm glad I found you;

Please save me from the water,
And I'll save you from the fire,
The best of us only exist if we are together;

If you help me,
I can help you,
We can keep each other afloat,
Because once in a while,
We can all use a lifeboat;

When there are chances of drowning,
You'll keep me from hitting the bottom,
And I'll keep you moving,
Waves will be crashing,
And you keep me dry and I'll be smiling;

When everything seems to be falling apart,
You're the only one who will help me through it from the start,
And when you feel like a forgotten art,
I'll give you something you've never had and that's my heart;

If you help me,
I can help you,

Because once in a while,
We could all use a lifeboat;

As darkness falls,
I'll have it all,
Because even if I didn't try,
You'll still help me to stay dry,
You kept me from falling high,
So that's why it's hard to say goodbye;
