Isn't it funny how no on cares,
Or how life isn't fair,
Listening to that poor boy screaming no,
And how his mother doesn't know,
Thinking about it just makes me want to cut my own air off;

I'm done listening to big corporations,
And seeing people forming lines like constellations,
And I blank out on my little screen,
It rushes me to the fictional scene,
As I begin to focus on;

Little boys and girls fighting in the schoolyard,
Watching the lair play the victim card,
The law is fighting the innocent man,
Couldn't someone just give that poor guy a hand,
Looking up at the stars,
I begin to wonder, is there gonna be life on Mars;

Isn't funny how we can grow ill,
After being dared to take the pill,
Big stars burn out and get drunk to make their forgotten fame go away,
Poor skinny Sally never got to live to see another day;

We're all done listening to big corporations,
And watching people forming lines like constellations,
And we blank out on our little screen,
As it rushes us to the fictional scene,
As we focus on;

Little boys and girls fighting in the schoolyard,
Watching the lair play the victim card,
The law is fighting the innocent man,
Couldn't someone just give that poor guy a hand,
Looking up at the stars,
I begin to wonder,
Is there gonna be life on Mars;

Is there life on Mars;
