Micah and Avery

This isn't my best work because I was angry as I typed it. Somehow the original chapter didn't get saved and I'm bitter about it...Also sorry I took such a long break between chapters.

Micah

I huff and follow her into the woods as were running I can't help but think about how big she is almost as big as Alpha Ryan is and it totally scares me. It's not easy but I'm trying to keep these thoughts to myself because I know Kenzie will scold me if she hears me.

Dude she's really big Kenzie all of a sudden says to me I can tell she is scared and it is not helping my confidence. Like could totally rip us limb from limb big she added.

"Yeah but Avery wouldn't do that to us." I said to her trying to convince both Kenzie and I of that.

Yeah but Tess might! Kenzie added. We haven't met her yet maybe she has a temper, maybe she can't control herself when she gets angry she is an Alpha after all.

I can feel myself starting to panic usually when this happens Kenzie is there to calm me down but right now she is part of the reason. "Kenzie what do w—oomph."

Avery

Something's not right Tess suddenly says interrupting our run. Her heart rate is through the roof.

I turn around to talk to Micah only to feel her run straight into me. I think she was so distracted that she didn't even notice me stop. She bounced off of me and rolled head over heal for a second before turning right side up, if I wasn't so confused I would have found it both adorable and hilarious. She shook her head for a second and looked up at me I started to take a step closer but before I could move her eyes got big and she had backed against a tree with her ears flat against her head and tail tucked between her legs.

"Tess what the hell did we miss?" I asked sitting back on my haunches in surprise. I quickly shifted back so I could talk to her.

"Micah." I said softly reaching out to her. She whimpered, and I cringed quickly pulling back. Tears came to my eyes as my heart shattered. "Hey hey hey" I whispered putting my hands where she could see them. "I don't know what happened, but you have to know I would never hurt you. Please can you shift back so we can talk."

She watched me for a few minutes her body visually shaking before she finally shifted back. "Thank you." I said sitting down "Please tell me what's going on Micah, I am so confused."

Tears started streaming down her face before everything came out in one long sentence. "It's just your wolf is so big, almost as big as Alpha Ryan's, and like Kenzie says we've never met Tess before so maybe she has a temper like him and maybe she can't control her temper, and your wolf is so big if she wanted to you could totally tear us limb from limb." I gasped at that last sentence and Micah snapped her head up at me and backed further into the tree afraid that she had angered me.

Micah

"Micah please look at me." I looked up and saw that Avery's eyes were the see-through color they were when she shifted into her wolf and started to panic. "Even though you clearly know who I am I would like to officially introduce myself. I am Avery's wolf Tess. We know that trust doesn't come easily to you, so we thought that it would be easier for you to get to know Avery before we introduced myself into the picture. Clearly we were wrong." She said with a sad smile. "Micah you have to know that we would never hurt you. We have been searching and praying for you from day one. I am an Alpha and there will always come a sense of pride and dominance with that title, but I am not like most Alphas and I am definitely not like Alpha Ryan. I earned the Respect of my pact before I expected it. And I will always respect, love, and protect you."

I nod my head in understanding and launch at Avery when I notice she had taken control again. "I'm so sorry!" I cried into her neck.

"It's ok." She said running her hand through my hair. "I'm just happy you're letting me hold you again. What do you say we get out of here. Ann can get a sample tomorrow."
