Caroline POV
Ahhh!! Me and Jeremy were starting our Stark industries internships today, ahhh!! And I'll be working with Miss. Virginia Potts. I mean life is going great recently, I have great friends who are more like family, I became cheer captain without using compulsion just raw talent and everything has been great well if we don't include the fact that recently Jeremy and Peter have been kind of awkward around each other except it was more Peter than Jeremy but you know.
"Peter!! Peterrrr!!" I Shouted down the school hallways following behind the mentioned boy and Ned. Thankfully they turned around upon hearing my voice and I sped up to keep up with the 2. "So Aunt May is going out tonight straight from work so she won't be at the apartment and not that I don't trust you 2 but I don't trust you not to burn down the apartment" I Said and they made noises of mock insult.
"I'll ha e you know I can make toast" defended Peter and I just giggled at him.
"Hey I was gonna say if you were staying at the apartment in your own to order take out but then I thought 'nah they'll still burn the place down'" I chuckled and they laughed along with me as we walked outside. I looked over and saw Jeremy talking with some of the friends we'd made since we'd gotten here. Peter and Ned didn't rally like them mainly because they were popular so they thought it was okay to call them nerds and stuff, cliche nerd/popular divide really.
"So if you don't trust us at the apartment whilst you and Jeremy are at those internships what do you expect us to do?" Asked Ned and I smirked at him. "We're going to wait in the car for 2 hours aren't we?" He asked and I just nodded my head.
"Hey if it helps I'll crack the window and I bought snacks, sounds fun huh?" I Said sarcastically trying to lighten the situation, they only shook their heads in amusement, I don't get what's so amusing but alrighty then. "Jer come on let's go" I shouted to him and he looked over giving me a thumbs up before saying his goodbyes and heading to his motorbike, I still think he should where his helmet more often and not just long rides.
Me, Ned and Peter got into the car and just started chatting about everything and nothing like we do, until we reached Stark tower. I parked the car gave warning flares to the boys before saying goodbye and heading to the tower. Jeremy was waiting in the lobby already wheni walked inside. We approached the desk and the women looked up. I was about to speak but she put up her finger telling me to wait as she answered a phone. I looked along the desk and saw a few other women all on phones but the women I was infront of quickly hung up the phone.
I went to try speak again but again with the finger. She started to type something on her computer probably from the phone call and when she was done she turned to me smiling.
Until that stupid phone rang again.
She held up her finger and answered the phone. Defeated I turned to look at Jeremy with pleading eyes, I'd already lost my patience once and I'm a frustrated crier when things have continuously gone wrong during the day and I don't want to deal with this lady. He nodded his head and lent over the desk. He grabbed the phone from the women and put it on the handset smiling as he did so.
"Hi we're here to see Mr. Stark were the new interns from Midtown High" he said with a charming smile and the lady just nodded her head. "Shouldn't you be typing something or getting like name tags or something, yeah chop chop" he said as she scurried away.
"Well this should be fun" I commented to Jeremy and he just smirked at me. Why do I get s really bad feeling from that smirk?
-TIMESKIP-
"How in the hell did you already blow up a blender?" I shouted at Jeremy as me and Peoper watched as Bruce treated his burns. Tony was cleaning his lab, Peppers orders. We'd been here about an hour and he and Tony blew up a blender and Jeremy has third degree burns on his arms, just the inside of his forearm though.
"I think that should stay between me, Tony and Jarvis" he chuckled but hissed as Bruce got burn gel, I think he said it was aloe Vera mixed with lidocaine fun, in a really bad part. "Anyway wouldn't you just like to know what we were attempting with the blender and the stove before the blender blew up" he muttered the last part and we just sighed in sync.
"Hey since Tony blew a chunk out of Jeremy's arms why don't you 2 leave early when Bruce is finished?" Suggested Pepper and I nodded in appreciation. "And now I have to go buy a new blender, hope the rest of your day only gets better cause I doubt it could get worse" Said Peoper before we said goodbyes and left. I turned back to Jeremy in time to see him swallowing some pills.
"So he should take 2 every 4 hours and here is some gauze for the wound to change the bandage just wrap it around loosely and give Tony a call if it shows signs of infection and he can call me, Okay?" Said Bruce and I nodded thanking him and taking the pill bottle and the wrap of gauze.
"Come on Jer, lets go find Peter and Ned to annoy" I Said as we started to leave the building. We started an argument about weather Jeremy should be aloud on his bike or not and yeah that boy was not winning if I could help it. We were walking down the hall to the elevator when we last a women with bright red hair. She was looking down at a tablet and as we walked past she looked up at us and I felt her eyes following us down the hall.
When I turned in the elevator I saw her still looking thankfully Keremy didn't see as she was looking right at him, with a mix of emotions.
Longing, sadness, regret.
And hate.
