Chapter 17: Porkies

Jeremy POV 

"Jeremy, Jeremy, Jeremy have you heard about Sokovja?" Asked Shuri as she joined me in the lab. I looked over at her with a questioning brow raised and I could tell by the look on her face she wasn't going to tell me easily. "Oh you haven't that very disappointing I would have thought you'd have been all up in that business" she said with a mock shocked face as she went to fiddling with some new tech she's been working on. 

"Oh just tell me you buffoon" I Said to the girl a few years younger than me but she just kept a blank look on her face shaking the device she was holding pointedly. "Okay fine I'll tell you what your doing wrong of you tell me what happened in Sokovia?" I offered to which she smiled and pushed the device towards me. 

"Pleasure doing business Mr. Gilbert" she said before she hopped up onto a stool that was nearby. "Well the Avengers created this evil robot guy who came up with this insane plan to 'save humanity' and he meant to use Sokovia like a meteor but the Avengers blew up the city before he could destroy earth" she said making exaggerated hand movements and facial expressions. 

"Huh sounds cool" I Said going back to Shuri's device. "You have a great story telling thing going on too maybe you should volunteer somewhere" I told her and she just rolled her eyes before she hopped off her stool and walked to her side of the lab. We worked on projects for awhile inostlu silence apart from when Shuri came out with random nonsense. And then T'Challa walked in with his 'this is a serious problem and not to be joked about' look. 

"Oh no we ran out of milk again didn't we?" Asked Shuri in a fake concerned voice putting hand to her chest. "Jeremy, Jeremy sound the alarm we need all units to the shop now we need to be able to drink tea!!" 

"On it should we send the Dora Milaje?" I Questioned in the same sarcastic tone. 

"Haha very funny but my father wishes to see you Jeremy" said T'Challa. I nodded saluting the siblings who had started to bicker as I exited the lab and headed to where you could usually find T'Chaka. 

"Jeremy please sit" Said the king as I entered the throne room. The heads of the different tribes were say around the room whilst there was a single empty chair in the centre where I could be seen by everyone when I sat down. "You've beeen here nearly a year" Said the king and I nodded my head. "You've shown we can trust you, is that trust misplaced?" He asked. 

"No no I don't think so , why do you ask?" I Said whilst scratching my chin, some may be concern since I wasn't talking in a fully confident voice but T'Chaka spends enough time in his daughters lab so he's gotten to know me. I couldn't have my own lab which unfair because apparently I need to go through a trial phase. 

"I'd like to offer you a job" Said the king and I raised a shocked eyebrow, interesting. "You act as a body guard for my family if we leave Wakanda and use your skills to help our country?" He asked and I thought it over. My skills set was actually quite limited to kill, serious harm or sarcasm but hey why not I might get paid. 

"Sure" I Said and the king waved his hand dismissing me. "Later gater" I Said walking out of the throne room. 

"Why is he calling us a gator?" 

"I think it's an expression"

Caroline POV 

I listened as the phone rang in my ear. I waited patiently for the person I was calling to pick up and eventually they did. 

"How the hell could you do that without consulting me first?!!" I screamed into the phone and I saw the other vampires in the car wince. "Huh how about o go blow up a city in midair how would you feel if I did that huh Tony?" I shouted at him. 

"Okay okay look yes I am sorry about that but to be fair it was a matter of life or death" he said in a calm reasoning voice. God he'd spent too much time around Pepper he was too used to erratic women. 

"Yeah it was life or death and now it's death because I am going to kill you when I get my hands on you Stark" I Said to the billionaire as we turned off the road to go down the insanely long dirt road to get to the new Avengers facility, Steve told us where it was on a secure line obviously. 

"Yeah well good luck finding me you don't know where the new Avengers facility is, ha" he said in a victorious tone and even though he couldn't see it I still felt the need to raise an eyebrow. 

"Don't I?" I Said in a eerily calm voice without giving Tony a chance to respond I hung up. 

"Don't you think your taking this too far?" Asked Bonnie who was in the back seat of Elena's car who was driving, she'd come back to life and was now the anchor so yeah that's fun. Stefan was also in the car behind where I was sat in the passenger seat but Ric and Damon were in Damon's car. 

"No, why do you think I am?" I asked the former witch who shook her head leaning back in her seat. "Good now prepare for a Nat sneek attack or one of Tony's little gadgets" I Said as the road started to become less condensed with trees as we turned a smooth corner. And I saw Tony talking to Steve and Thor. 

"You!!" Shouted Tony in a panicked voice as I stepped out of the car. 

"Yes me how could you guys do that to us?" I Questioned as I walked towards them giving Steve a hug because hello muscles and then I gave Thor a hug because muscles and he's like a giant cuddly puppy. 

"Hey" I heard a feminine voice say and I saw Nat who was stood kind of awkwardly. 

"Nat" I replied with a head nodd and the air grew in tenseness until we heard Furys voice. 

"Nat who the hell is Galina Egorova?"
