Caroline POV
"Oh my god your actually here!! I can't believe it did Damon uncompel you or whatever to come back or what?!!" I screamed throwing myself into his arms before dragging him inside. The asshole that he was laughed at me but I did t care because he was here to laugh at me.
"Not exactly" he said as we finally sat down after much herding whilst he was taking his shoes and coat off. "Damon can't compel me" He said but I knew at the time he wasn't wearing vervain and he hadn't consumed any. "Mind control doesn't work on me, one of the perks of my childhood" he said and I frowned but nodded.
"Caroline?" I heard shouted from the front hall. My mom must be home. "Who's here? Oh hi Jer" she said when she walked into the room. Jeremy smiled back at her and that wasn't unusual since Jeremy spent 75% of his time here.
"So, What brings you down this neck of the woods?" I asked him as my mom sat in her chair whilst me and Jer shared the sofa.
"Okay so I already talked to your mom about this and she agreed, Jeep that in mind Okay?" He said and waited for my nodd before continuing. "What would you say to moving to Queens with me?" He asked and I choked on air. "I mean Mystic Falls is kind of hells little brother or sister and besides one of the originals are in Denver, Kol I think" he said whilst I just sat shocked. I was sat looking between my mom and Jeremy just waiting for one of them to start laughing and say 'pranked'.
"Your serious?" I asked Jeremy who nodded and I just screamed in pure happiness. I mean don't get me wrong or anything I love Mystic Falls it's my home town but I'm Caroline Forbes everyone knows I belong in a big city or something, so why not start at Queens, New York. "Oh my god we'll need to find an apartment, get jobs and find a school to go to and oh my I'd we have so much to do so little time" I started listing things off much to my moms and Jeremy's amusement.
"Care I've aready transferred to a school in Queens, I got an apartment big enough for 2 rented already just have to get out there. So pack your stuff and whilst we're on the road tomorrow your mom can phone the school to get you transferred" said Jeremy and I relaxed.
"I need my curlers" I started before I headed upstairs to start packing. "Jeremy either come here and help me pack or finish packing yourself cause I want to get to Queens ASAP" I Shouted downstairs and I heard Jeremy laughing and the door opening and closing, he must have gone to pack his own stuff.
I heard footsteps and assumed my mom was coming to help me or to tell me she was going to work. But when her footsteps got to my room they just stopped in the doorway.
"Do we still have that suitcase from a few years ago? Cause I don't think these 2 will fit my clothes, items of value, shoes and my hair stuff. Do t even get me started on toiletries, wait no I can get stuff when we get there and god mom are you crying?" I asked her when I turned around after rambling for a little bit. She did ha e years but when I mentioned them she wiped them away quickly.
"Yes I am okay? My baby girls all grown up and moving to New York. You know I'm proud of you for doing this right? I mean in this town you'd end up dead before the end of the year, I mean you've already died once" she said laughing lightly at the end. She'd walked forward when she started talking and was now holding my face between her hands in a motherly way.
"Thanks mom. Now for travelling do I go with jeans and t-short you know comfort or do I This nice denim dress that I bought?" I asked her and she laughed at me, but thankfully helped me with advice.
"Jeans and t-shirt for driving I mean nobody's going to see you and you can change when you get there if you need to go get anything" she told me and I nodded before we got to work packing my room away ready to be driven by yours truly all the way to the Big Apple.
-TIMESKIP-
We'd packed the car just as the sun was rising and it had taken all night. Thankfully my mom made sure to book today off so she could catch up on sleep and I was a vampire so I'd be alright during the 7 1/2 hour drive from here to Queens. Me and my mom were eating breakfast whilst watching Friends and just talking before Jeremy got here and I had to go.
"You got everything in your bag for the car ride?" My mom asked suddenly and I grabbed my bag so we could double check.
"Purse, sunglasses incase of sunshine, phone and charger, lipgloss, spare car keys, I.D, what am I missing?" I Said aloud and I worried my lip before I realised what I was missing. "Blood bag cooler, Wait I put that under the passenger seat" I Said and sighed happily smiling at my mom. She smiled back and was about to speak when we heard an engine pulling up to the house and stopping outside.
I grabbed my bag and headed for the door and saw Alaric getting out of his car and a motorbike pulling up behind him. The person in the bike got off and took the backpack which Alaric handed him putting it on his back and grabbing a duffel bag. They walked to the door dropping the bags next to the car as they went past. Oh my god, that asshole.
"Jeremy Gilbert since when did you own a motorbike?!!" I demanded once they were close enough.
"I finished fixing it up last night, like it?" He asked finally taking his helmet off, ugh helmet hair.
"Yeah whatever leave me to drive alone why don't you" I muttered under my breath. We said our goodbyes and put Jeremy's bags in the car, he only took his wallet, some water and his phone and stuffwhoch were in the backpack on his back, obviously. I got into my car and sat at the wheel, Alaric had gone and my mom went inside so she could get some rest but not before we had a tearful goodbye and Jeremy was putting his helmet on getting ready to go.
"New York here we come"
