ACT iv

chapter twenty six; angel on fire

i had some bags packed while i waited for mars upstairs.

my body was leaned against the side of the car as alana had walked out of the building.

"alana!" i called out, the blonde stopping as i jogged up to her.

"look, i'm sorry." i wasn't sure what else to say but she seemed to shrug it off with a smile.

"don't worry, venus. you're not the only girl i've been talking to." she smirked as i let out a small bellow.

"i'll be back soon. can you make sure my plants won't die?" i asked as she nodded her head.

"get back here safe. we're not done partying and you can bring your boy toy if you please." she began to walk to her car as shook my head, a smile curled to my lips as mars walked out of the apartment building.

"are you ready to go?" he asked.

"yeah, let's go catch that fucking dick." i sounded as confident as i could be, but i was a little nervous.

"hold on," mars paused before he got something out of the car. "you forgot this, and i know we're going back but i guess you can read it on the way back." mars held up my copy of romeo and juliet as i grinned.

"you're amazing mars solano." i got closer to him as he smirked.

"you're exquisite venus cadalora." his face inches closer to mine as the gap was closed, his soft lips against mine.

"okay, are you guys done? this is like watching a lifetime movie." we broke apart to see titus as his arms were crossed.

"you ready to go back?" mars asked as titus bounced on his heals.

"actually, i was thinking about staying here for a while. i don't think i want to go back quite yet." i was surprised to listen to what titus said, but mars seemed unfazed.

"give me a sec." he walked over to his friend as they walked away for a moment.

i was glad to be rejoiced with mars once more, but i felt a part of me that would be missing mizan. to have that taste of freedom i had craved for most of my life.

mars has returned as i handed titus the keys to the loft.

"don't be too dirty, and please keep my plants alive if alana doesn't stop by, and if she does just tell her i said it was okay." i gave titus some house orders as he nodded his head.

"thank you, venus." he gave each other a small hug before we had parted ways.

"i hope you're ready for what's next." mars and i had got in the car as i arched a brow.

"the drive isn't that bad." i argued.

"not that, but rather the people we will have to deal with when arriving back to the kingdom." mars replied.
