Chapter thirty-seven
(Charles' POV)
I wake up and smile at Allie.
"You're up early." I say sitting up. She smiles at me,
"I couldn't sleep." She gives me a kiss.
"Why? Is it because I'm starting chemo? Don't be nervous. I've done this hundreds of times before, I'll be fine." She smiles at me.
"Chaz is also starting chemo..." I nod, forgetting that my son also has a tumor.
"He's done it before too." I kiss her and stand up. I go to Kristen's room to wake her up.
"Kristen, time to wake up." She moans and turns the other way.
"No." I rub her back.
"Come on, get up lazy head." She grabs her phone and checks the time and moans again.
"It's only 9:30! Wait till ten." She shoos me away and goes back to sleep. I shrug and leave her room, closing her door behind me.
I go into Anna's room to wake her up.
Anna sits up and smiles at me.
"Morning daddy." Anna says smiling at me.
"Morning." She giggles and runs out of the room. I go to Chaz's room next.
"Morning bud." I say kneeling down.
He turns over and smiles at me, "morning!" He gives me a hug and runs out of the room. I smile and stand up.
Kristen finally got out of her room.
"Good morning."
She whines and rubs her eyes. I put my arm around her.
"How are you today?" I say kissing her head.
"Tired. Why am I up so early?" I laugh at her.
"It's good to wake up early!" She glares at me and walks downstairs.
I laugh and follow her down.
She sits at the table and Allie hands her a bowl of cereal.
The twins get some cereal for themselves.
"Daddy? Can you pour me some milk?" I nod and grab the milk for Chaz.
"There you go bud." I rub his head and give him a spoon
He walks to the table and starts eating. I pour some milk for Anna and she smiles at me.
"Love you daddy." She grabs her bowl and walks to the table.
"Love you too." She smiles and eats. Allie gets some cereal and hands me a bowl.
"Thank you." I kiss her and get my cereal.
She gets cereal and we sit down at the table.
We start to hear crying coming from upstairs.
"I'll get her." Allie says walking upstairs.
I finish my bowl and put it in the sink.
Kristen gives me her bowl. Anna and Chaz are still eating.
I show Chaz the bags with chemo in them.
He glares at them and shows me thumbs down. I laugh and put them down.
"I hate those." He says crossing his arms.
"Don't hate them. They help your brain get better." He glares at me.
