Chapter 23

Camila walked into the cafeteria hand in hand with Mo. They got lunch and started walking to the "Poly" table. As Camila sat down she stared at her table and there sat Austin all alone, sulking. The rest weren't there yet, but as she stared at him his head lifted and he and Camila made eye contact. Camila gave a slight smile. Austin gave no reaction and instead pulled out his phone and started playing a game. Camila's smile turned into a frown until Mo started introducing everybody. For that she plastered on a smile and looked happy.

"You all know Camila, but in case not, this is Camila Cabello, we're dating," Mo explained.

"Hey," his friends said.

"Well Camila these are my friends. That's Leilani, Moana, Tepiu, Jr, Mahana, Thomas, Alia, Tama, Mehiata, Vetea, Tala, and Siale," Mo said as he pointed to each.

*The names are in order of girl, boy, girl, boy. So some names sound like it belongs to a girl or to a boy just remember it starts with a girl then a boy then a girl and so on and so forth*

"Ia Orana!" Tepiu, Moana, Mehiata, and Vetea said cheerfully (The Tahitians).

"Mālō e lelei!" Mahana, Thomas, Tama, Tala, and Siale (The Tongans).

"Aloha!"-Leilani, Jr, and Alia (The Hawaiians).

"Hola!" Camila said proudly representing her Latin heritage.

"Glad to have you here at our islander table!" Mehiata said with a heavy accent and a smile.

"Thanks," Camila said with a smile.

Just then Alex, Normani, Lauren, and Dinah walked in. They got their food and looked at the table where Austin was at, they didn't sit. They looked at Camila and she nodded for them to come over as they walked over.

"I hope it's ok my friends come over," Camila asked.

Mo looked over at Dinah walking over with all her beauty and nodded.

"Of course they can come! We Polynesians are a welcoming race!" Mo exclaimed with a fake heavy accent.

As they approached and sat down Camila smiled her first real smile of the day. As Dinah got situated she looked around and saw Mo staring at her. He winked and Dinah blushed and hastily started eating so she'd be distracted.

"What was it your guys name were? Normani, Alex, Lauren, and Dinah right?" Mo asked with a seductive smile towards Dinah.

Dinah ignored him as best as she could, but Normani was all in for conversation.

"Yep, and your Mo Tua'one. I know all of you" Normani said as she ate.

"Really?" Thomas asked with intriguing interest.

Normani eyed Thomas flirtatiously. They may claim to be "together" but they didn't claim each other as boyfriend and girlfriend. It was one of those weird relationships or generation has where 2 people, very much interested in each other, talk and flirt and go out and are basically dating but they aren't dating...

"You would know, wouldn't you Masi," she answered with a smirk, "I have my info about you from different sources. After all I am a milk chocolate goddess."

His eyes widened as he immediately turned towards Dinah, "You told her?!"

Dinah laughed, "Sorry toko, it kinda just came out."

Everybody laughed, and with that many people at the table, people stared. One of those people was Austin. He watched as his only friends were laughing up a storm with strangers. Austin felt sadness, betrayal, jealousy, and whole bunch of other stuff. He got up and started to walk out of the cafeteria. Before he exited he glanced back at his friends, and as if on cue, Camila glanced at the door and they made eye contact. She saw in his eyes that he was hurt.

Camila felt bad and attempted to get up to see him, but Alex pulled her back.

"Leave him be," Alex whispered.

Camila reluctantly sat down and ate as she silently thought to herself, I can't do this anymore...
