Austin's feet pounded against the concrete, but as he neared his house he slowed and eventually stopped. His eyes traveled up the sidewalk to the entrance. He looked back down towards his feet and started to walk further down the street, completely ignoring his house. He stuffed his hands in his pockets, looked at the ground, and walked further into the cold night air. He didn't know where he was going but he knew he didn't want to be at home where Camila was only 6 houses away. As he walked he passed a girl who looked about his age. As he passed her he accidentally stepped on her laces and the girl fell forward on her knees. He automatically rushed to her side.

"I'm so sorry! Are you ok?" Austin asked as he helped the girl up..

She blushed before she spoke, "No, no. It's fine I should've paid more attention to my shoes."

"No, it was all on me. I'm sorry. I have a lot going on right now. I'm sorry, again," he said as he helped dust her off.

"It's ok. Thanks for helping me up Austin."

Austin looked at the girl in confusion.

"H-h-how do you know my name?" He asked in perplexity. "Oh... I forgot. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to creep you out," the girl said full of embarassment.

Austin kind of just laughed of the situation, "Well just so we're even, what's your name?"

"Karla."

Austin stepped back a little in shock. This girl had the same name as the girl he loved, and she was about the same level of attractiveness too. Notice the ALMOST, because no one could compare to Camila, at least not in his eyes.

"Well, Karla, its been nice meeting you. But I still have one question," he replied.

"What?" She questioned.

"How did you know my name?"

Karla blushed madly, "Ok this is sort of embarassing, but I've had like the biggest crush on you since like the 6th grade."

6th grade! Really! I didn't even know we ever went to the same school. Actually I think I know her. or atleast heard about her. She's in a couple of my classes. She's rather popular, well not popular in a sense. More of like the type of thing where everyone knows her but not everyone like KNOWS her. Like I know of her and her skills, but not her, Austin thought to himself.

"Really. Well... um... That's interesting," he managed to get out.

She laughed a bit, "Yeah... I'm also one of Camila's friends. We talk often but not a lot where I'm considered like her best friend like those girls she hangs out with."

Austin nodded in understanding.

"But it's fine. I have my own group of close friends," Karla said giving Austin a sheepish smile.

Austin smiled back, "Well that's good. A pretty girl like you should have a bunch of friends," he said as he winked.

Karla blushed.

What am I doing? Am I flirting? Why? Maybe because I know Camila doesn't want me. At least not anymore. I'll always love her but right now someone's into me and later on, maybe, I'll like her back... I just need something or someone to make me forget about Camila. Make me forget about my feelings. Not get rid of, I'll always love Camila, but just to get forget...

Austin flashed Karla another smile, she returned the gesture. They stood there in awkward silence.

"Well... I better get going," she finally said breaking the silence.

"Ok... See ya around," Austin said as he and Karla started walking their separate ways, "Actually... Karla," Austin said as he spun around.

Karla turned around meeting Austin's gaze.

"Yeah?"

"Do you wanna go to Prom with me next week?" He said rather quickly.

Karla gave Austin a weird look, "Come again."

He took a deep breath, "Would you like to go to prom with me?"

She raised an eyebrow in confusion, "Aren't you with Camila?"

"Um... No actually," he said with a slight frown.

"Oh... Sorry."

"It's ok. So what do you say. Wanna go to prom together? We could also hang out tomorrow or something," he offered.

"You just met me," Karla pointed out. "I know, but I know a good girl when I see one. So what do ya say?" He replied with a smirk.

Karla laughed then smiled slightly, "I'd love to go to prom with you, but the hanging out part I can't do tomorrow. I'm booked this whole week, but how about next week?"

"That sounds great!" He replied.

"Great! It's a date!" Karla said happily, "Boy have I been waiting to say that for how long," she said with a giggle.

Austin laughed to, "Well I guess I'll see you at school. We can get to know eachother better there to."

"I look forward to it."

"Ok. Well goodnight. I'll see you tomorrow," he said with a wave as he walked off.

Karla waved back and walked onward. Austin still walked away from his house and headed to a nearby Burger King. He ordered some fries, a whopper, and a milkshake AKA his comfort food. After he ate, he felt better and walked home where he went straight to sleep after his rather interesting day.
