First Comes Love...

Chapter 29

Ally was at home holding envelopes sent to her from the colleges she applied to. She opened most of them each with a rejection to her application, or she had been wait listed. She was getting upset. She groaned in frustration, but then her phone rang. She set down the last envelope and answered it.

"Hello," Ally said with frustration laced in her voice.

"Hey Ally. I need... You know what it can wait til later. What's wrong? You sound... irritated," Nor man I replied.

"I am!" Ally screamed as she sighed then whimpered.

Ally wiped a tear from her eye and sniffled.

"Ally, it's gonna be alright. Just tell me what happened," Normani insisted.

"Mani... It's just that... NONE of the schools I've applied to have accepted me! I'm totally freaking out!!!"

"Ally take a deep breath and calm down," Normani said as she heard Ally breathe in then out, "Now tell me how many letters you have left."

Ally sighed, "One."

"Ok. Now listen to me. You will open that letter with all the confidence in the world and read your acceptance letter," Normani told her confidently.

"But what if-" Ally started but Normani interrupted.

"No ifs, ands,  or buts. Ally you will be accepted into this one. Which college is it anyway?" Normani asked.

"UTSA."-Ally

"See that's like your 3rd college of choice. And your gonna make it babe. Don't worry," Normani cooed.

"Ok. I'll read it," the young Latina sighed out.

"Ok I'll hang up now," Normani replied.

"Wait! Don't hang up," Ally said but she was to late, Normani hung up.

Ally sighed and set the letter down as she went to get a drink. She sat down, across from the envelope, eyeing down. Wondering what she would do if it was another rejection letter. A tear formed and slowly ruled down her cheek. She picked up the envelope and twirled it around in her hands for a bit. She couldn't postpone this much longer. She started to open up the envelope, but then a knock was at the door.

Normani's Perspective

"Guys I'm going to run over to Allys real quick," Normani said.

"How far is she?" Lauren asked.

"Like a block or two. I'll be back with her. Make sure Camila doesn't leave this house!" Normani said as she ran out the door.

Back to Ally

Ally got up, while holding the letter, to open the door.

As she opened the door Normani jumped in and grabbed the letter.

"As I was saying I'll hang up and come here and read it with you," Normani said with a warm smile.

Ally smiled and hugged Normani, "Thanks."

"No Problem. Lets get reading shall we?" Normani said as she sat down.

Ally sat across from Normani.

"Ok I'm ready," Ally said while crossing her fingers

"Ok. Dear Allyson Hernandez, we regret to inform you..." Normani started before Ally started crying again, "wait let me finish. It says we regret to inform you that you do not qualify for our academic scholarship, but you are accepted into UTSA on a mixed Latina scholarship. Congratulations on making your way into the home of the UTSA roadrunners. We're looking forward to seeing you this fall. Sincerely, University of Texas at San Antonio chairman, John Goodman."

A/n: I don't know how college rejection or acceptance letters are. I'm just now starting to apply😂

Ally looked up at Normani in shock, "Are you serious?!?!?!"

"YES!!! You got in Ally! You got in!" Normani screamed.

Ally grabbed the paper and read it over. She smiled and jumped for joy as she gripped the paper.

"I made it! Normani, I made it!!!" Ally said as she hugged Normani, "Thank you Mani."

"For what?"

"For being there for me. It's at these times I thank God for friends like you, Alex, Camila, and Austin. By the way where are the others," Ally asked.

Normani face palmed herself, "Shit. I totally forgot. Ok, remember how I called you earlier?"

"Yeah."

"Well Austin is trying to win over Camila, but she refuses to go. So I need you to get her to open the door of her bathroom and then get her ready for her date," Normani said rapidly as she ran out of breath.

"Ok. I hear ya! Let me get my stuff and I'll be there!" Ally said as she raced to her room and grabbed what she needed, "Ok lets go!"

Normani and Ally ran to Camila's house and into her room.

"It's about time! Everytime we try to talk to her she screams! I swear she's worse than Regina when she throws a tantrum! Where's Ally?" Dinah asked.

Normani looked confused, but then realized Ally was behind her so they couldn't see the little big sister.

"Here she is!" Ally said as she stepped out from behind Normani, "Nice to meet you again Dinah," Ally said as she gave Dinah a hug, "And I don't believe we've met. I'm Ally," she said as she shook Lauren's hand and gave her a hug.

"I'm Lauren. Nice to meet you," Lauren replied.

"Nice to meet you too. By the way love your eyes! Now where's Camz. Sorry if I'm a little jumpy I just received the best news! Enough about me. Where's Camz? Did I already ask that? Oh well just show me where she is," Ally said excitedly

Dinah and Lauren pointed towards the bathroom.

"She'll be out in a sec," Ally said as she pushed up her sleeves and marched to the door.
