Sing Part Two (Johnny X Jamie)

Chapter 7: What Do We Do?

Jamie got to Johnny's place and knocked on the garage door. He opened it up with a friendly smile.

"Well, if it isn't the most beautiful gorilla I've ever seen," Johnny said.

Jamie smiled and told him as they hugged, "You really know how to make a girl happy."

"I want you to be. The way you sounded on the phone didn't sound like you were. What's wrong?" he asked as they parted.

Jamie looked outside, shut the garage door, and sat him on the couch. She was really nervous to ask this question.

"If there was...another female gorilla here at the time...we weren't dating, would you still...ask me to be your girlfriend?" she asked slowly.

Johnny looked at her, confused. Why would she ask that?

"Yes. Of course I would. Why would you--" he started then a look of realization came on his face and he asked, "Is this about Brooke? Because I don't like her like that."

"That's not the part I'm worried about. Although, it's reassuring," Jamie said, pulled out her phone, and continued, "When we went to go talk, I recorded our whole conversation and I want you to listen to it."

"Okay," Johnny nodded.

She went to the recording and hit "Play".

"So, where are you guys from?"
*door slam*
"Let's get something straight, JAMIE. We are not friends. We will never be friends. We are going to destroy you and your group in this contest and I will win Johnny's heart."

Johnny was shocked to hear this and he looked at Jamie, who signaled him to keep listening.

"Excuse me? Wouldn't that be Johnny's choice? And last time I checked, he chose me."
"Oh please. Look at yourself compared to me. I'm way prettier than you. He's only with you because he hasn't met someone like me until I came. And here I am."
"If Johnny decides that, then that's his choice, not yours or mine. But I love him and he loves me. No one can change that except him if that's what he wants."
"We'll see about that. I can change his mind in an instant. And Mr. Moon already decided that we are singing a duet and whoever the audience decides is the winner will sing a duet with Johnny. Which will be me because you can't sing."
*knock on door*
*footsteps toward door*
*door opening*
"I think she got the message, huh."
"Oh yeah. She did."
*door shuts*

It was at the end of it and Johnny was really mad. Jamie placed her hand on his and he relaxed a little.

"They really said that to you?" he asked.

"Yeah. But I'm not the only one affected. Meena's been having trouble with her partner too. Maybe Rosita, Gunter, and Ash. I highly doubt Mike is since his partner acts like him. But you seem to be the only one who hasn't been targeted," she explained.

"We need to tell Mr. Moon about this," Johnny said.

"Yeah. But let's talk to the others first to see if it's them too. Because I only know it's me and Meena," Jamie suggested.

"Okay. And I'm sorry," Johnny told her.

"What for?" she asked.

"You told me that you get these feelings if someone's bad news and I didn't listen. I should have," he answered.

"It's okay. You're listening now. That's all that matters," Jamie told him as she let her head rest on his shoulder as she hugged his arm.

"By the way, I appreciate that you let me make my own decisions. I doubt Brooke would," Johnny said.

"It didn't sound like it from where I was. And I don't see a reason to let you go," she stated.

"I don't see one for you either," he responded.

They kissed for a while until Jamie had to go home. He drove her home and they went to bed.
