Chapter 19: Telling Johnny

Jamie finally made it to Johnny's place and knocked on the door. She panted heavily since she ran all the way there, which she was still shocked she did so. Johnny answered the door to see Jamie, panting hard.

"Jamie? Where's the fire?" he asked.

"I'll...tell you...when...I get...inside," Jamie breathed.

He let her in and sat her on the couch. He got her a glass a water and in one gulp, she drank 3/4 of it.

"Did you run all the way here?" he wondered.

"Yeah. I needed to tell you something before rehearsals tomorrow," she answered.

"What is it?" Johnny asked as he put an arm around her.

Jamie took a small sip of water, looked at him, and explained, "Brooke stole something from me and in order for me to get it back, she said I had to break up with you. But with help from Ash, I was able to make her think we did and I had to let you know before anything happened tomorrow."

Johnny let this information sink in as he stood up and rubbed the back of his neck in frustration. He paced the floor while Jamie got nervous about how he would react.

"What did she take?" he asked.

"I can't tell you," she answered.

"Why not?" Johnny wondered.

"Because it's a surprise for you and I wanted to wait till the show. I took care of it, but I didn't want Brooke to try anything before I talked to you," Jamie explained.

"But the fact she went that low, Mr. Moon needs to know about her," he pointed out.

"He already knows," she said.

Johnny looked at her in disbelief. How could he know and still let this happen?

"He does?" Johnny asked.

"Yeah. I told him this morning. By the way, thanks for the roses," Jamie replied.

"You're welcome," he responded then wondered, "But what does he plan on doing about it?"

"He wants us to settle this during our song. And I agree. Beat her at her own game and she'll back down," she answered.

"Are you serious? She's taken things too far and you're just gonna--" Johnny started.

Jamie interrupted him with a kiss, which he easily melted into. One of his arms went around her waist while the other was on the back of her head. One of her arms rested on his shoulders while she caressed his cheek. This lasted for a while until they needed to breathe.

"Do you trust me?" she asked.

"With my life," he answered.

"Then let me handle Brooke in my own way. There will be someone with you guys when rehearsing so she doesn't try anything. But we need to pretend that we did break up," Jamie explained.

"Okay. But when we have time alone, I want more of this," he smirked then kissed her.

She joined in and when they parted, she smirked as she answered, "You most definitely will get more of that. Now I got to get home before Rosita grounds me."

"Alright. See you tomorrow," Johnny said.

"Yes you will," Jamie smiled.

She left, confident this plan would work.
