Huey groaned softly as he felt something touch his body. His eyes barely opened, but they were open enough that he noticed a dark figure standing above him.
Huey screamed as the figure stuck another needle in him. This time, it hurt to the point where tears immediately started coming down his cheeks.
Dewey and Louie sat up rapidly at the sound of a scream. They noticed a doctor standing above them injecting Huey with a syringe. Dewey noticed that his brother was crying, on instinct, he gave his brother a hug, trying comfort him, Louie did the same, not regretting the choice of staying the rest if the night.
"It's okay. You're okay Huey." Dewey stated in a soothing tone.
Tears streamed down Huey's cheeks as the doctor kept the syringe in his body. Again, Huey lost his voice due to the pain. It was weird... with every injection the doctor gave him, Huey felt weaker than he had been before.
"It's okay........stay calm. You're fine." Dewey continued hugging his brother.
"I'm sorry....I'm sorry." Louie continued muttering this under his breath.
The doctor finally took the needle out of Huey's body and left the room to enter it in the database.
Huey whimpered as his body shook. With every new injection, his fear and anxiety increased in him. He tried to open his eyes again, but failed to do so once again.
Dewey sat up and sighed, placing his hand on Huey's.
"It's okay....we're here." He hoped that his words would help calm his brother down. Dewey looked over at Louie and saw his younger brother sobbing and wiping away his tears. "Louie? What's wrong?" Dewey asked.
"It's nothing.....I'm fine, I p-promise." Louie continued wiping away at his tears as he sobbed. "I-I have to go." He got up from the bed and walked towards thee door, about to open it.
"Louie, wait." Dewey called out. "Please don't go......Huey needs us right now."
"No, Huey needs doctors, he needs medicine, he needs treatment. He doesn't need us."
"Don't say that Lou." Dewey stated sternly.
"I'm sorry, but it's true......what can we do to help our brother Dewford?" Dewey stayed silent. "Huh!? Tell me! We can't do anything but hope that the doctors don't mess up."
"You're wrong, we can stay with him, that's what we can do!" Dewey yelled back.
"Well I'm not staying here to watch my brother slip away from me and this world slowly!" Louie opened the door.
"Please don't do this Llewelyn, please." Dewey sobbed. Louie shook his head before walking out into the hallway of the hospital, he slid down the wall and hid his face in his arms.
As soon as Louie left the room, Huey could sense that his youngest brother was not there. He wish he could've said something that would've made him stay. He needed both of his brothers right now.
Huey had always been there for both Dewey and Louie, sure, he was there when it wasn't a life or death situation like this one, but he was still there.
The red triplet understood that this was affecting Louie greatly, but he wished that Louie would stay by his side and not leave when things got rough.
Huey's heart beat faster because of this. His closed eyes tighten, and his hands weakly gripped the hospital gown that was over his chest.
Dewey noticed this and reached for Huey's hands, gripping them lightly.
