Cough.

Cough.

You woke up. It was light. Slightly dusty as you breathed in deeply as though you had been holding your breath. Your eyes were no longer heavy. Your tongue slightly dry from having your mouth open after all this time. Your eyes scanned your surroundings to find yourself in a new place. You had vague memories of arguing and then going for a walk. That's when-

"About time you woke up dear." A chill went down your spine.

"I'm not going to tell you anything so this is pointless." You gritted your teeth.

"Don't upset me Y/N. I hardly want to ask you questions this time. How about instead... I tell you a little story?" His eyes sparkled as he glimpsed over at your face, turning 180° in his swivel chair and rolling over to you, invading your personal space. Instinctively, you leaned back in order to avoid any contact.

"I'm not interested in your stories."

"You hardly have a choice darling," he annoyingly pointed out. You pulled against the rope that tied your hands to the back of your chair, your feet tightly bound to the chair legs. He must have learnt his lesson from last time.

"Okay, lets see," he looked around, twirling a pen in his thin fingers, "there's a man. He has an ordinary family at home. Lives an ordinary life most of the time. I guess you could say he's happy hmm," again he checked your expression but you weren't even looking at him.

He continued, "he had a job as a government agent, doing all sorts of dangerous assignments." You knew who he was talking about immediately so you chewed the inside of your cheeks, trying to avoid the anger bubbling inside of you. Lashing out could cost you your life.

Lucas noticed the tenseness in your jaw and knew you had picked up what this story was about.

"One day, he's told that a large drug deal will be held in Incheon, far far away from home. So he has to take leave from his family for a few days."

Instant memories flooded your mind, thinking back to how you had felt sad on that day. The hugs. The goodbyes. You were used to it but it still upset you. Separation wasn't an easy thing to deal with.

"So he went to Incheon. Infiltrated a drug smuggling deal. 30KG of cocaine right there and then. A large haul to be frank. The story could have ended here and our hero could have gone home to his happy little family. But oh no." Lucas sighed a little, trying hard not to show the frustration that caused his brow to sweat a little under the harsh lighting.

"I guess on his way back, he felt triumphant and happy. A new case was given amongst some cops of a murder that had happened in Seoul near one of the gang territories. It wasn't something big but he felt the need to get involved. Morals or something like that." He shuffled closer, his knees basically touching yours.

"He probably didn't even know what the case was really about, no one did lets be honest. They were told something along the lines of a stakeout being held for probably another drug deal. I don't know how it happened but Mr Agent appeared in a basement that he shouldn't have been in. Got in a little tumble let's say and got shot. Bullet just missed a vital spot so was left alive and his perpetrator had already ran before the backup arrived."

"Talk in a straightforward manner" you spoke in a cold tone that held some power. Lucas smiled at your strong persona.

"Fine young lady, your father, without knowing, swiped a card that holds very important information from the police that I need. But as you and I both know, he's gone which means someone else has it. Or your father is just a thief and is still hiding out." He stared at you, reading your responses.
