An Illustrious Past

An Original Friend

   " I'm taking you to PARIS!"

   Zane and Leslie's jaw dropped. It seems like he's joking badly that it wasn't registered directly to their minds. Both of them looked at Adrian with an are-you-really-serious look.

   Adrian laughed. " Hey! I know those looks! Come on, of course I am serious. It's for real!"

   "Prove it!" Zane said in a sarcastic tone.

    Adrian pulled rectangular pieces of paper in his pocket.

   Then Leslie and Zane's eyes were bulging when they realized they were TICKETS..

   "Done!" Adrian remarked.

    Leslie remained silent.

   " Does this mean I'm going too?" Zane said , her eyes full of longing.

   " Oops! Sorry, just a ticket for two." Adrian apologized.

   "Naaah, It's okay! I was just kidding! I have no plans either. I love the atmosphere here and I wouldn't want to disturb the journey of two lovebirds." Zane chuckled.

  "Good! hahaha! You must atleast help us pack Leslie's things."

   Leslie stopped them. " Who said I'm going with you? You just arrived Adrian  and now you want to take me to Paris?! Don't be silly. And Zane, don't you dare touch my things without my permission."

    "Oh Leslie, what's the problem?" Adrian asked.

    "Problem? My parents , they don't know about this."

    " That's what you're worried about?"

    " Well, yes."

    " It's all fixed. No problem."

    " What do you mean by fixed?" Leslie inquired.

    " Before I came here, I went to your parents and informed them of the plan. They'll agree with me if and only if I'd take care of you with all I am. I said I  was willing to do so. With my charisma, I was able to convince them.Right now, they entrusted you to me. Allowing me to take you to the place of love--Paris, France." Adrian muttered impressing Leslie.

     " You've got to be kidding me, Adrian!"

     " No, I'm again serious about this. I want you to feel how much I care and love you."

    " And how about my studies?"

    " We'll take care of that, just like me years back, you'll continue everything there. We'll both have a new beginning."

     "And what about---"

     " Can both of you please cut this argument and settle down! " Zane exclaimed aloud. " Leslie, this boy is exerting much effort into you. Take the chance and grab it. This doesn't happen everyday." She continued looking at Adrian, " And you, please take extra care for my sister. The moment I hear news about her being harmed, be ready for my fists. You shouldn't take her for granted."

    Adrian and Leslie silenced themselves and listened to the opinion of Zane who seemed so dedicated to her speech.

     " You too are a perfect match! Don't argue with anything that's going to ruin this moment. This is your REUNION guys... You shouldn't forget the fact that you've been apart for years. Savor this moment instead! "She smiled. "Both of you are so cute together. I envy you guys, a lot. So please, don't argue. Remember how Lazy Cat cares for his Little Mouse?"

     Leslie and Adrian smiled.

     Leslie said, " Zane, you are truly my bestfriend. No doubt about that.No one else can be same as you are in this world."

     Zane nodded.

     " And, thanks for the concern. Also, for letting us remember each others value. " Adrian added.

    " My pleasure to be your original friend!" Zane exclaimed.
