An Illustrious Past

Sitting Together

   "What happened between us, Adrian,is one of the things I cherish most." She smiled leaning her head on his shoulders. They are sitting beside each other in the park, coping for the years of separation.

    She continued, "We were just so comfortable at each others arms that I can never recall a dull moment we spent. You were full of pranks that made me laugh and most probably, those jokes that make my tummy ache. "

    Adrian smiled at the thought and listened to her voice intently.

    "Lazy Cat, it took sometime to realize I was already falling for you. I was afraid and kept it to myself. 'Til that night when you said you loved me too, I couldn't measure how glad I was. Infact, after that, I just couldn't help but smile and I wasn't able to sleep well too." She squeezed his hand who is holding hers, remembering how it once felt.

   "Then there comes this challenge--You, leaving for France. I felt pain in my heart, I always felt incomplete without you. There are so many things I don't understand at that time. Just like, why you need to keep it a secret from me.I was hurt yet I managed to stand because I was always faithful. And just like magic, here you are. You came back."

    She looked at him while he stares back at her. Those twinkling eyes, those pinkish lips and those fluffy cheeks--it has always been a missing event for both.

     Leslie said to him, "You prooved that 5 years was worth waiting for. Thank God, he brought me another miracle, another blessing."

     It brought tears welling down her eyes.

     Adrian realized it was his turn, so he held her hands and said. "Les, our friendship means a lot to me. The moment we first met, you were so friendly and open. I guess that's what made our bond irreplaceable."

    Adrian looked away , then met her gaze. "Leaving you and being away from you was the hardest. When I was in France, I've had friends but none of them laughs the way you do or acts just like you. That's when I realized I was missing. You were unique and every other detail of who you are, matters to me."

    Leslie smiled.

    " And honestly, I never had a relationship in France because YOU are my priority. Now, I'm happy to hold your hand just like before."

    "Happiness is everything that matters right?" She said.

    "Yes, and happiness to me means being with YOU Little Mouse."

    She slapped him a little, overwhelmed by his words.

    "I love you Little Mouse. And this time,I wouldn't just be saying that but prooving you it's meaning. Just please give me the chance, we'll be starting over. I want both of us to live a lifetime together." Then, he kissed he hand.

    Leslie hugged him tight .

   Happiness was all over both of then who end up crying.

  

   Adrian repeated, " I love you to the moon and back. "

  

  Leslie replied without hesitation " I love you too more than the stars in the sky."
