An Illustrious Past

Affirmative

   Leslie thought that it takes a great man to do what he did. She wiped her tears away  and managed a smile-a true one. She was glad they were given a time like this.

   She moved closer to him and held his hand. " It doesn't matter now, I completely understand."

   Adrian looked at her, surprised. He tightened the grip of their hands. "You're not anymore angry?"

   "I understand now. Besides, it was for your benefit or maybe for both pf us." She smiled, "And I took note of what you told me-- wherever you are,you'll always find find your way back to me no matter what."

    He said giving her his roguish smile. " Oh, haha. I remember that! Do you still have those fireworks in your body?"

   "Of course! They're always present when I think of you." She laughed. " I couldn't get rid of those since you are the ones who planted them!"

   " So does that mean you're still in love with me?" He asked.

   Leslie's heart skipped a beat-just like the old times. She was dumbfounded. Leslie couldn't claim it to herself since it has once betrayed her. It made her careful, maybe suffer a little. Yet the answer can possibly be a "YES."

    Out of the silence, somebody broke in.

    "Ahhhemmm! Leslie, you haven't told me you have a visitor." It was Zane, holding a red cellophane in her hand. " Sorry for breaking in, you left the door open."

    Both of them smiled at her. Leslie said, "Ohh, it's okay Zane."

     "So, who's this handsome guy? Is he the ONE from your illustrious past?"

     Leslie stared badly at her.

     Zane smirked." Aha! I get it! And don't look at me like that, I'm still your best friend. Of course , next to him."

    Adrian without hesitation, extended his hand to Zane and introduced himself. "I'm Adrian from her illustrious past."

   He winked at Zane  and when she caught the signal she said," Zane, from her illustrious present.

   All of them including Leslie, laughed.

  

   "I think I should be the one to prepare dinner." Zane offered. " You two mist make up for the times you were apart. I know there's so much to talk about."

   " But before that, Zane can I ask you something?" Adrian said hopeful.

   " Sure! Go ahead."

   Leslie was quite uneasy for she knew that any secret shared between Zane and her would be spilled any moment forward.

   Adrian pushed through his question." Is Leslie still inlove with me?" Leslie was shocked by the question and so was Zane.

   Yet, Zane answered, " She may not have told me the truth but, I can truly affirm you that she is still falling for you with all her heart."

    Then Zane faced Leslie. " I think that's the reason behind why Leslie  stares in the sky at night."

     Leslie smiled warmly, admitting the truth to herself.

     Adrian jumped for joy and carried Leslie in his arms, overwhelmed by Zane's answer.

"In that case," He said. " I'm taking you to PARIS!"
