The Tribunal of Hepta Reigno

King Namjoon and King Hoseok had gathered in the hall, awaiting the arrival of their fellow monarchs. King Seokjin was the first to arrive, his face etched with nervousness. Namjoon, ever the comforting presence, reassured his brother. The next to arrive was the youngest of the Kim siblings, King Taehyung, his exuberance a stark contrast to the somber mood. He settled beside Seokjin, leaning against his brother’s arm. Seokjin smiled and patted Taehyung’s head. Shortly after, Kings Yoongi and Jimin joined them.

As the last to arrive, King Jungkook entered, visibly annoyed and disinterested in the gathering. With all the Kings assembled, Namjoon signaled the guards not to disturb them, and the meeting commenced.

The Gathering in Briunza

Jonreo awoke in an unfamiliar yet tidy room, the air carrying a fresh breeze. He detected the aroma of food and attempted to rise, feeling a wave of dizziness. Just then, the dragon within his pendant spoke.

Jonreo, do not summon me. We are safe here, tended to by an old woman.”

“An old woman?” Jonreo inquired.

“It appears our fusion was too much for your body, leading to our separation. You lost consciousness, but our connection remains intact, allowing me to speak to you.”

“Where are we?” Jonreo asked.

“I believe we are in the house of this old woman.”

Thuds drew closer, and apprehension gripped Jonreo as he sought refuge beneath the blankets. Peeking out, he watched as an elderly woman entered, a tray of food in hand. She was surprised to see him awake.

“Oh my, I didn’t realize you were up,” she exclaimed.

“I apologize, I think I should be leaving,” Jonreo responded hesitantly.

“No, dear, it’s unsafe for you out there, especially given your nature,” she cautioned.

“What do you mean, ahjumma?” Jonreo inquired.

“We will discuss it later. For now, please fortify yourself with this soup,” she said, setting down the tray.

“Thank you, but I don’t want to trouble you,” Jonreo replied.

“You’re no trouble, dear. In fact, your company is quite welcome. I’ve been lonely since my grandchildren moved away to another kingdom,” the old woman explained.

“I’m sorry to hear that,” Jonreo sympathized.

“No need, dear. I enjoy your company. You remind me of my grandson,” she said warmly.

Jonreo savored each spoonful of the savory soup, amazed by its flavors.

Ahjumma, this is delicious!” he exclaimed.

“Why, thank you, my dear,” she replied.

“It’s so flavorful, yet different,” Jonreo remarked.

“It’s an ancient recipe from my late grandmother. She believed it rejuvenated and cleansed the body,” the woman explained.

“I would love to meet her and express my gratitude for this wonderful meal,” Jonreo said, content.

As Jonreo finished, the old woman gathered the tray. He followed her to the kitchen.

“You have a lovely home, ahjumma,” he remarked.
