Kellin's POV
Seeing Austin sitting around the house pouting, was exhausting to say the least. Between my moodiness from detoxing and Austin dealing with the backlash of Stephanie's article, my mom had her hands full with us. But, mine was completely out of my control, I was trying my absolute best to be okay and act normal and for the most part I was. I wasn't telling any of them how I was feeling just so my mom didn't have to stress about it. She was stressed out enough and I didn't need to add to that. So I stayed quiet, I stayed at home, wrote when I could, read at times and, if I was lucky, Vic would come over and spend time with me. I liked when he came over, it made my day.
"You two need to get out of this house," my mom said, opening the curtains in the living room where both Austin and I were both sitting watching some dumb movie.
"No!" We whined.
"I don't care, you two are driving me insane," she said.
"Maggie, the press are everywhere!" Austin argued.
"Don't care, get out of the house."
"Mom, I can't, I don't feel good," I complained.
"Really? Why not?"
"He's dealing with heroin withdrawals. I think it's like fifteen days or something before he'll get over that part and just be stuck craving it," Austin piped in.
"Oh goodness. Why don't you both go out then?"
"I don't want to," I said with a sigh. "Besides, we're grieving. We need to stay cooped up and be sad for awhile."
She rolled her eyes, "Are you serious?"
"Yes," I said, giving her a completely serious look.
"Get out of my house, both of you," she ordered.
"Mom," I whined.
"Go," she said and looked at Austin. "You too. Go bug Alan or something."
"But he's working."
"Both of you go to the bookstore and see Vic, I'm sure he would love the company in that stuffy shop of his."
"I don't wanna go be the third wheel," Austin muttered.
"You won't be," I said. "We're still just friends."
"Just friends don't fuck like you two did last night," Austin said.
"We did not!"
"I totally heard you," he said, glaring at me. "I wanted to die and how could you do that with Maggie in the house?"
"I didn't hear a thing," Maggie said. "As long as I don't hear it, I don't care. You're grown."
I gave him a smug smile. "She didn't hear so it's fine," I said.
"So you admit you and Vic fucked?" He said.
I shrugged.
"Gross!"
"What? It's a totally normal thing, how is that gross?" I exclaimed.
"You did while people were home!"
"It was the middle of the night," I argued.
"Will you two please leave now? I need a break," my mom said.
"Fine we will leave."
She took a seat and sighed. "Thank god," she exclaimed. "I understand that you both have problems right now but it isn't healthy staying locked in here all day."
