Austin's POV

It was hard going home. It was hard being in the same house as the same witch who ruined my life, but when I wasn't with my lawyers or dealing with press I was house hunting. I needed a new place that was away from her. I wish I could move far, far away from her but I needed to stay here in Chicago. I built a life here and now I was going to have to rebuild it.

"Will you pass me the sugar?" Stephanie asked from across the table.

"Will you fix what you said about me?" I snapped.

"You're the cheater."

"I never cheated on you! We were already separated and weren't together and you know that!"

"How do I know you weren't with him before we were separated?" She retorted.

"Because I'd never do that to you or anyone. I'm not a cheater and I'd never put someone through that."

"But that's exactly what you've done anyway," she said and leaned over the table and grabbed the sugar.

"I didn't cheat on you! I cared about you at one point in my life, but I never thought you'd use shit against me! That's just fucked up and you told me you'd never do shit like this to me!"

"You never cared about me and you know it," she said, glaring.

"Yes I did! You think I would have been with you this long if I didn't care for you! I loved you Steph for a long time, but you changed and you screwed this up."

"All you ever cared about was your image."

"I care about it when someone I thought actually gave a damn about me goes behind my back to ruin my career and ruin someone else's!"

"I was just writing the truth, Austin."

"You're slandering my name."

"It's not slander if it's the truth."

I glared at her, "I can't wait for this fucking divorce to be over because then I don't have to know you anymore!" I stood up from the table then left the house. I had to go meet with my coach and my publicist.

I didn't understand how she could ever do something like this to me. It was the downfall of marrying someone who was a journalist. I got into my car and made my way to my meeting.

When I got there I sat at the big conference table with my coach, the manager and the publicist. I knew they were going to chew me out for letting this happen and I was not looking forward to it.

"Sorry I couldn't meet for the past couple days," Coach said, "My kids have been sick."

"That's fine," I said.

"Let's talk about you though and as the news calls it," He slapped down the newspaper in front of me, "Your twink."

"He's not a twink," I said automatically. "And I didn't start any sort of relations with him until after Stephanie and I split up."

"That's not what it sounds like Austin! No one is happy with you! How are you going to clear your name?"

I sighed and dropped my head into my hands. "I don't know."

"You know what you're going to do? You're going to tell them that he was some super fan and he came on to you."

"Like hell I am!"

"You are."

"No, I'm not doing that. I'm not ruining his life to save mine."

"He's just some kid, Austin."
