Alan's POV

I hated it here. I was lost and I felt like everything that was going on in my life wasn't going well. I missed Austin and he was gone then Vic was lost in Kellin land now. I was stuck here to deal with all the people who didn't like me because I was the shitty homewrecker and life ruiner. I broke up the hometown sweethearts and no one in town liked me anymore. I used to be the nice boy, but now people glared at me whenever I needed anything.  It was like I was the town villain or something at this point and I hated it.

And as the days went on the stories only got worse. Reporters were starting to show up at my job even and try it ask me about it. I had patients refuse to let me help them because of this. I just wanted out of this town. I couldn't keep doing this anymore. My life was going to be ruined before it ever really got a chance to start. And it was all for the stupidest reason ever. I didn't get how they were all so upset over something small, it made no sense.

I sat across the table from my parents as we ate breakfast. It was daunting seeing my father read the paper with my face on it.It was embarrassing that my parents had to read about the media calling me Austin's twink.

"You see the newest article?" Dad asked me.

I sighed, "I know."

"You going to leave him?"

"No."

"Why not?" My mom questioned. "He's ruining your life."

"He's not ruining my life."

"Really? These articles say otherwise."

"I still care about him," I said "He's not ruining my life at all in any way."

"The hate mail would say otherwise."

"I don't care."

"Do you think anyone in your field is going to take you serious if you're known as the hometown homewrecker?"

"Austin's going to fix it."

"You really believe him?"

"Yeah, yeah I do. He's really great."

"I'm not so sure about that," she muttered. "If he's anything like he was when he was younger he's reckless and stupid."

"I didn't know him when he was younger."

"His family has lived next door your entire life."

"I know, but it's not like I was friends with him. Besides I'm eight years younger than him I wasn't exactly paying attention to a teenage boy who was next door."

"I know that but you should have never started anything with him in the first place."

"Why not?"

"Because he was our hometown hero."

"So?"

"So you ruined the whole love story with them."

"Austin told me himself that he didn't love her."

"Doesn't matter what he told you. He could always be lying to you."

"He's not lying, Mom," I snapped.

"I'm just saying, boys like that aren't good for you."

"He's perfect for me."

"Really? He doesn't seem like it."

"He your boyfriend then?"

"Well no, but we're exclusive."

"That makes no sense."
