God, was I thankful that Monica just appeared in the right moment...but what am I going to say if Candice is asking me again about my "accident"? I can't tell her the truth..I can't tell anyone.
After I showed our teacher the paper from my doctor, I took a seat on a bench at the side of the hall. A few curious students came closer to find out why I sat here but I shot them a cautionary glance so they decided quickly to walk away. It worked perfectly... until Shania came into the gym. She ignored my glance and asked wondering: "What happened?". I tried to avoid looking her in the eyes and said "Nothing" but she repeated her question and I sighed and told her "Just a little accident..calm down I am still alive, okay??" and there seemed to be something in my voice that made her believe because she just nodded and walked away.
Phew...that was close...
Suddenly I heard someone coughing. I turned my head to the left to see Candice sitting next to me. "Uhm...boring isn't it?" , she asked with a shy smile and I couldn't help but smile back, "Yeah sure...what about truth or dare?"
Her eyes widened in surprise as she stammered "Yes..why..why not?". I took a moment to understand the surprise in her eyes as it came to me like a lightning and I replied "Of course....uhm..I'd like to tell you that I am sorry for all the insults I gave you. I...uhm..maybe we could try to forget that time and make a new start in peace?" Damn what am I doing here?? I don't say sorry normally...
"Yes! Of course yes!! It sounds perfect", I heard to my left what interrupted my thoughts but somehow I felt...relieved. Why?
I smiled at Candice and said "Alright then Candice..let's start again". "No wait..you can call me Candy", she replied and the surprise in her eyes was still there but it was mostly displaced with..happiness?
"Good...Candy, truth and dare is calling our names", laughed and in the back of my head I told myself that this day was an amazing day.
So, our two 'strangers' seem to get closer right? ^.^
