Candys POV

The school went by quite fast and at the end of the last lesson, Janine stood in front of my table with a smile and prodded me. In this short time of our..I guess it's a friendship..I already noticed that she loved to prod people to say "Hi" or just to annoy them. I thought that it was actually cute but I didn't say this just even once to her.

A loud cough yanked me out of my thoughts as saw Janine still standing there. "Uhm what's up?" ,she asked but I could see that in her eyes..there was something like..tension? "Noth-" , before I could reply stood Chris, Janes boyfriend, next to me and glared at Janine in disbelief. "Since when are you friendly with her?", he nodded at me as he said "her" and Janine shot directly back "Listen to me you moron", she said as she came closer to him "that's none of your business and by the way Candice has a name so use it." Right in this moment, Jane arrived and took Chris with her without a word while he just chuckled. It hurts everyday that our friendship breaks apart more and more...Janine had clenched her fists and took a deep breath before she nodded at the door to ask me whether I am ready to go and I took my bag and wemt with her.

Why did she react like this? She could've ignored it...

We sat at a bench in front of the school as she calmed down and started to talk again.

"So uhm..I wanted to ask you whether you'd be interested in a date? Oh my god no sorry not like this!! I mean that Shania made a plan you know and it's a shopping trip and yes that's it!! Not a date like you know..sorry I am still confused because of this idiot Chris that's why I-", it seemed like she didn't even breathe and her cheeks turned into a deeper red almost every moment. "I'd love to", I simply whispered but it was enough to stop her talking and she blinked a few times. "Wait..really? You say yes?", her eyes lit up and a smile grew on her face as she continued "That's great!... I mean I usually don't like shopping trips and stuff but wow great!!" I decided to not tell her my opinion on shopping trips because I didn't want to ruin her apparently good mood so I smiled and said "Uhm yes but..I have to go now..".

"Oh okay..me too..well then see you tomorrow! " , she gave me a hug before she went away quickly and I couldn't help but laugh at her unexpected mood change today.
