Chapter 10 - I'm a book whore
Ethan, Adam, and I are just sitting here in silence, while everyone else talks. Ethan has been shooting Adam glares every now and then and I have to whisper in his ear to calm him down. And of course when I do that, Adam shoots me nasty glares, I glare right back.
The attention is turned toward Ethan and I when Linda talks. " So Ethan, Melly, you guys just look adorable. " She says brightly. Ethan and I exchange goofy grins. " Are you two dating? " I don't react to this mostly because many people over time have thought Ethan and I were dating. Were used to the assumptions.
Ethan smirks at me the looks back at Linda. " She wishes she could date this. " He smugly replies. Linda's eyebrows shoot up and Kat is glaring. " Kat. You shouldn't glare its bad for the skin. " Ethan says snickering.
" Oh puh-lease. He wishes he could get with this. I'm just to good for him. " I say. Linda's mouth is dropped open. Derek is hiding a grin. Adam is glaring at Ethan. Kat is glaring at both of us. Rosie is playing with her food. Lastly, Antonio is glancing back and forth between us like were crazy.
" Your too good? Remember that night we spent together? We slept together and You kept ' accidentally ' calling me another guys name. Not once when we slept together have I ever called you another woman's name. " Ethan says dramatically. Of course Ethan isn't lying, this happened. But we only slept in the same bed when we were like 8, and I kept calling him batman. But leave it up to Ethan to make it sound dirty.
I look around the table and everyone's mouth is dropped open. I'm pretty sure if looks could kill Ethan and I would be dead, by Kat and Adam. Adam fists are clenched and he is turning red.
" Can I talk to you in the kitchen real quick Melinda. " Adam says in a strained voice.
Should I go?
Eh what damage can it cause. I stand and Ethan does too. Adam shoots him a deathly glare and Ethan returns it. " Its okay, Ethe. I'll be fine. " I reassure him. He looks at me hesitantly. He sits back down and Adam and I walk into the kitchen.
He turns to me in anger. " What the hell? " He snaps.
I control myself. " Yes? " I ask calmly.
" You fucking slept with him? "
" Ohmigod. No. Ethan was just joking around. "
He visibly relaxes. " Why do you care anyway? " I say.
His face softens. " Melly. I was just mad and jealous last week. I promise I meant nothing. I'm just a stupid guy who let his masculinity in the way. I'm so sorry. " He says. He looks like he is being honest.
I don't know if this is a good idea but, I nod. And he squeals and grabs me and twirls me around. I giggle in his arms. The fuzzy feeling is back in my stomach.
Ethan comes dashing in. " I heard a squeal. I thought it sounded like Melly. " He says.
I smirk at Adam, he is bright red. " No, actually that was Adam. " Ethan laughs.
" So what's going on? " He asks as he takes in Adam's arm around my waist.
" Hey. We cool homie G. " I try to attempt a gangster tone. Ethan and Adam crack a smile.
The rest of the night goes by pretty smoothly. Besides the fact that Linda keeps shooting me nasty looks.
She thinks you're a whore.
I'm a book whore.
