Today was the day, as much as I hated leaving mom I could no longer bear to see her in such pain.
Ever since dad died, her bond between them began to weaken her. As much as I hated it, my mother was slowly dying.
I remember some of my previous life, no matter how bad she tried to keep it from my memory. I knew I belonged to the Power pack but I wasn't sure of any details other than that. Was Alpha Adrian still the leader? Who took my dads place as the beta now that he was gone?
So many questions that I yearned to have the answer for. I zipped up my bag and quietly walked over to the window sill, opening it up and dropping out from my two story room. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, sometimes I swear I could feel my dad right beside me, his dark brown wolf staring at me with his old grey eyes.
My eyes were always what people commented on, the unique greyness that made up my particular irises. I reopened them and took the first step toward a new beginning.
If I had remembered correctly it was a 72 mile hike back to vicinity of the pack, and about 165 miles to the pack house.
Because it had been ages since I shifted last, I decided to wait until further on in the woods before I tried.

Holy hell I'm out of shape. It's been about four hours and I can see the sun rising in the distance. I've walked about 63 miles and I am beginning to feel more connected to my wolf, and she is whimpering for me to let her out.
Realizing it would help both of us out, I stand behind a tree, shed my clothes and concentrate on shifting into my tiny amber colored wolf.
I feel my body cracking like it hasn't in ages and it feels so good. Once I am in full form I stretch out my limbs and close my eyes as the wind ruffles my coat. I grab my bag in my mouth and begin to run as fast as my legs will carry me.
Past mountains and creeks and more trees than I could count and I finally see the pack lines ahead. Each pack is guarded healing and they know you are apart of the pack either from scent or the mark on your neck.
I greet the guards cautiously as I stand by a near tree and shift back. Once I have redressed I was to the guards and turn to show them the mark on my neck.
Upon approval I walk past the guards and onward to the pack house, maybe I could finally find some answers as to what happened to my home whilst on "vacation" I guess you could call it.
I walked for what seemed hours and still no pack house in sight. Maybe I had gotten turned around? Yet, I had not seen anymore guards.
I heard a rustling sound and immediately looked around for anyone or anything, she began walking backwards slowly.
All of a sudden I felt this heavy weight forced on the back of my head and all I could feel was my body fall to the earth and my mind drift into darkness.
