Seven hours had passed, seven sleepless, terrified, tear filled hours. The men had thrown Britha into the trunk of their black Blazer. Tyler drove as the second man sat in the passenger seat, the third sat in the back, closest to Britha, the rifles laid across the seats beside him.
"Tyler, watch the pot holes in the rode, don't wanna hurt it anymore than you already have..." The third man looked back at Britha, sympathy laced in his eyes.
Now that she was close enough and in a closed space with them she knew for certain. All three of them were human, she had never been so close to humans before, only nymphs, wolves, and other creatures of the forest. She forced her fear to subside and managed to drift asleep.
Hours later, Britha was awaken by the slamming of the truck doors. Her ears twitched as an unfamiliar voice echoed outside of the truck. The voice got closer and the trunk door swung up. It was the third man, with the nice eyes that helped her out and kept his arm around her waist, helping her keep balance. His eyes fell to Britha's leg, watching as a black liquid trickled down her left leg. "Wh-what is that?"
The unfamiliar voice cleared his throat and stepped forwards. Britha was weak and struggled to lift her head, but managed to study the male. He was slightly taller than the others and towered over her. His light caramel orbs were laced with curiosity, along with anger.. The morning sun danced on his strong, deep bronze face as his mahogany dreads fell past his shoulder blades and slightly swayed in the gentle breeze. Britha's head fell, his appearance made her pale cheeks flush a soft shade of pink.
The male scratched his beard as he huffed, "That's blood, Chris" His voice was deep, gentle and melodic with a hint of frustration and anger. He took a pause and pushed a dread from his face. "I thought I said NOT to harm her!" He raised his voice, causing it to lose its gentleness.
"I told Tyler..." Chris paused as he looked over at Tyler, who narrowed his eyes at him. "He didn't listen..." He choked on his words again but still managed to get them out.
The man, the boss, turned his back to Britha and Chris, they watched as he slightly lifted his shirt and folded his fingers around the grip of the 9mm handgun that was tucked between the lip of his dark grey slacks and his lower back. He whipped out the 9mm and instantly pulled the trigger. Tyler released a pain filled scream as the bullet pierced his right knee and he quickly dropped to the pebble driveway. The man then placed the gun back into its place behind his back as the second man began to rush over to Tyler, who laid with his hands folded around his knee, blood pouring out from between his fingers. "Touch him and I'll shoot you too, Evan."
Evan stepped back as Tyler squirmed and released an agonized groan. The boss man sighed then made his way up the driveway, waiving for Chris to bring Britha along. It hadn't taken them long to get to the massive white and grey house. There were large grey double doors in the center of the slight V shaped house. A wide oval like window sat above the door, two like it were on each side of the oval window, the rest of the windows were like rounded squares, each had a grey frame.
A woman stood in the now open doorway. "I'm off to work, darling." The woman's voice was soft but stern and thrash. She then turned and disappeared back into the house. They made their way into the house, Britha began to nod out as Chris helped her up the right stair case.
"Lay her in my room, on the bed. I have to say goodbye to Miranda. She won't be back till April."
"Business trip?" Chris questioned with a small smile as he watched the man nod as he stood at the base of the stairs.
"Yes, and I refuse to go with her this time..." He spoke with a chuckle, now heading down the hallway between the set of stairs on the first floor.
Chris felt Britha's weight increase as she drifted back to sleep. He switched his position, now carrying her up the stairs bridal style. Once on the fourth floor, he made way down a long hallway which branched to the left and the right with a door in the center. Chris somewhat struggled with the knob before being able to actually open the oak door. The room was massive, its white walls made it look even larger, with their ash borders. A king sized bed sat in the center of the room, a large bay window sat behind the ash colored head board. A small nightstand that matched the bed frame sat on each side of the top of the bed.
