The Beauty In The Nightmare

 Slick shifted into 4th gear and the car roared as it beamed down the black pavement. He jerked the wheel, swerving between other vehicles. Slick's left hand remained on the wheel as his left held his phone, fingers dialing Degan's phone number.

 "Hel-" Degan went to speak but Slick immediately cut him off.

 "Boss, they made the truck. Someone from the house snitched you out. I don't know who, I don't know when, I just know that the Kingdom managed to pin your truck..." Slick took a slight pause as he swerved between two tractor trailers and sped up. "Degan, they know who you are, they know your face and they're instructed to bring you to Alucard dead or alive." He nearly choked on his words as he heard Degan curse on the other end of the phone.

 "Fuck!" Degan hit the wheel as he shook his head with a scowl. "Do you have the Veneno?"

 "Yes, Sir." Slick smirked as he shifted into 5th and sped down the highway.

 "Marshilee looks like he knows how to handle a car. He'll be taking the Veneno..." Degan looked back to Britha for a brief moment then back to the road. "And Britha home with him. It's better off that the Kingdom doesn't get a hold of either of them. You and I will stay with the truck...Possibly even dispose of it. Call and tell Leon to put the house on lock down until this situation blows over. I'm pulling over now, a mile after the exit for Mëkat City. You know what to do with the phone." Degan then hung up and threw his phone out of the truck window, watching in the side mirror as a car ran over the phone, destroying it. He then looked over to Marshilee and hit him on the shoulder to wake him up.

Marshilee slowly opened his eyes as he looked over to Degan. "Are.." He yawned and stretched his arms, "We there?" He ruffled his hair as he looked around. "Why'd you pull over?"

Degan turned the key in the ignition, shutting off the engine. "It's about another hour before you get to the exit for the Fallen District. Somehow the Kingdom found my name, face and truck and they've been ordered to return me to Alucard dead or alive. You'll be taking Britha home with you while I deal with this whole mess. Touch her and I'll do everything I can to kill you, everyone has a weakness and I promise you I'll find yours." Degan looked over to Marshilee as his hues turned a vibrant gold.

Marsh nodded as he shrugged. "I get it...Though if I wanted her, I assure you I'd already had her. Anyway!" He looked in the rear view mirror as Slick pulled up behind them. "It was a girl..." He paused as he reverted his attention to Degan. 

 Degan arched a curious brow as he looked in the side mirror as Slick approached the truck. "What are you talking about?"

 "The person that ratted you out to the Kingdom. I heard her while I was in the shower, though I didn't know what she was doing at the time." He watched as Degan reached back and woke up Britha, who moved her hair from her face as she sat up.

 "Thanks, Marsh." Degan turned to Britha as Slick opened her door and held his hand to help her out. "You're going to go with Marshilee for a bit. I'll come get you when I can." 

 Panic laced Britha's pink orbs as she took Slick's hand and climbed out of the truck. "Ah...Beh ca'ful." Slick walked Britha to the Veneno and opened the passenger door for her. Marshilee then caught the keys that Slick tossed to him and sat in the driver seat. Slick and Marsh closed the doors simultaneously and Marsh started the car. Slick stood to the side as him and Degan watched the car disappear into the traffic.

 Slick then huffed softly and climed into the passenger seat of the truck, closed the door and opened the glove box, pulling out a laptop. "They'll be fine, Boss." Slick reassured Degan with a small smile as he powered on the laptop and logged in, quickly hacking into the Kingdoms head of security. Degan pulled back onto the highway. "Plan on keeping the truck?" His eyes refrained from leaving the screen of the laptop as he scrolled through the file the Kingdom had created on Degan, causing him to snicker.
