Mwah love to all! -neshaj}Needless to say after that I avoided Adam Billings like he was the plague. It was hard to do, seeing as we worked together and our offices awere on the same floor, but I somehow managed. Every time he was on the floor, I told my now much more mellowed assistant to inform me so I could be somewhere else. I avoided eye contact during meetings and rushed home as soon as working hours were over. I left early today because of a text I got from Leslie and Wyatt caught me on my way out of the office.
"What did you do to Adam?" He accused. "He's been in a really pissy mood."
"Why do I have to be the one to do something to him?" I asked, offended.
"Because you've been running like you stole something and he looks up like a excited puppy every time someone mentions your name." Wyatt explained with a roll of his eyes. Damn him and his perceptiveness.
"I didn't do anything." I grumbled. "Don't blame me because he's in a bad mood." Wyatt grabbed my arm and he started walking back.
"Then you won't mind if we go see him, now would you?" He smirked. My eyes bulged.
"No!" I gasped, planting my feet firmly on the ground, but my three inch kitten heels offered no resistance against the tile. Wyatt stopped.
"Relax, I told him not to come today. I've been doing all the work for a change. This is even affecting me!" He said, sounding exasperated. "I don't like being out of the loop." He sounded like a child.
"No." I told him fiercely. "If Adam didn't tell you then I'm definitely not." I blushed at the memory of this kiss and held my hands to my face.
"Fine!" Wyatt threw his hands up. "You guys are no fun. To think I even bought you a birthday present." He pulled out a slender velvet box from his pocket and handed it to me. I stared at it.
"Birthday?" I asked. Wyatt raised his eyebrows.
"Yeah, October thirteenth is your birthday right?" He asked. I gasped. It was my birthday! I completely blanked on my twenty-sixth birthday! How the hell did that happen? Wyatt laughed at my perplexed expression.
"I can't believe you forgot your own birthday!" He ruffled my hair. "How old are you now?"
"Twenty-six." I said in a daze. Wyatt groaned.
"You make me feel so old." He sighed. "Well I got to go, but I will find out what's going on between you two." He promised, and turned on his heels, walking away.
"Wait, Wyatt." I grabbed his arm. "I'm having a party for Benji in a few weeks, you should come." He pursed his lips.
"A two year old's party huh? Not exactly the party of the year. Are you cooking?" I nodded and he grinned. "I'll see you there then." I shook my head chuckling as he walked away.
"You need a wife." I yelled to him.
"My offer still stands." He turned and winked at me. I chuckled, rolling my eyes and realized his present was in my hand. I looked expensive, I hated when people bought me gifts. I looked up and Wyatt was already too far away down the hall to give it bac. So, I just sighed and opened the box. It was a golden locket with a sunflower engraved into the front. I clicked it open and blushed when I saw that it was a photo of me in that skimpy little apron he made me cook in. I knew I heard a camera!
