Today was finally the day. I stared down at my baby sleeping peacefully as he cuddled close to me. The months flew by quickly. He was no longer the little baby who could barely walk and speak. He was growing up so fast. I touched his cheek rubbing the baby soft skin.

"Benjamin..." I cooed and his eyelids fluttered. "Big-Ben, time to wake up. Happy birthday baby ." His eyelids fluttered again and I came face to face with big baby blues.

Then he shut them tightly.

"No momma sleep." He clung to me. I sighed. I was beginning to rub of on him. It was usually him the one telling me to get up. But I knew how to wake him.

"Fine. Then I guess you won't be getting your surprise. I told him and grinned when his eyes snapped open. Suddenly he was the one pulling me. I pretended to be asleep, watching him through shuttered eyes.

"Wub up momma. Up." I couldn't keep my grin from taking over my face. Why was this little boy so cute?

"Are you sure?"

"yeah sho let's go." I smiled at his eagerness and scooped him up, setting him down in his high chair and getting breakfast ready. Luce and Leslie were waiting for me sitting at the kitchen table with expectant smiles.

"So what are we doing today?" Leslie asked the same time Luce said. "Thank god, I was getting hunger pains." I rolled my eyes at the both of them, pulling out the ingredients for chestnut pancakes. I saw the recipe on the Food Network a couple of days ago and thought I'd give it a try. Some people would say it was wrong of me, using my friends and my child as guinea pigs, but they haven't complained so far. And what they don't know couldn't hurt them. I turned on the radio, for some reason music always made the time go by faster while I was cooking, and got to work.

"I already told you last week, we're having a pool party at Wyatt's house." I said while cracking a few eggs into a big bowl.

"Wyatt Hathaway..." Leslie crooned, in a somewhat aroused voice. I wrinkled up my nose, but didn't turn around to her.

"I also remember mentioning that he is my boss, not to mention my friend and completely off limits." I sang to the beat of the music and smiled when I heard Leslie groan. Luce chuckled and I turned and winked at her. She was the one I didn't have to worry about trying to get into my bosses pants unless she was jamming her knee into the front.

After I made a big stack of the flat cakes, some tukey bacon and scrambled eggs, I chopped up a banana and put it on Benji's plate, before handing them each a short stack and sitting down to watch their reactions. Benji ate the banana's first as usual, he loved fruit and since syrup was too messy, I never gave him any. Luce was a little more hesitant.

"What kind is this?" She asked me through narrowed eyes. She was really too perceptive for her own good. The pancakes looked completely normal, but for some reason she knew that something was off.

"Chestnut." I grinned.

"You are using us as your guinea pigs again." Leslie accused. Okay, so maybe they did know.

"So? You never complained before, now eat." I commanded, watching them take hesitant bites. Smiles lit up their faces and they moaned simultaneously in pleasure. Luce stuck her thumb out and Leslie nodded. They both didn't say a word, just continued to eat and I ate my own pancakes with a satisfied smile. They were bad-ass if I did day so myself.

Afterwards, we all got dressed and piled into the "mom car" packing my trunk with ingredients for the party and heading to Wyatt's house, stopping to pick up Ollie on the way. I hired her for the day to keep an eye on Benji while I was cooking and he was in the pool. Her eyes widened when she saw Leslie and stayed that way as she gazed at Luce and then me. I smiled at her through the rear-view mirror. She was completely star struck.
