I got a text from Wyatt telling me to come to Adam's office. I ignored it, I was at my office on a Sunday, I had a so much work to do since Adam finally decided to go through with my Kellogg's proposal. I had to schedule another meeting with the CEO's of the company since the last one was a complete bust, redo my whole business plan since Adam shot down my first one, done and have it done by yesterday. Then I had to find a venue for Benji's birthday party. I was going to do it at home, but I decided to find someplace with a lot of space so he could go all out without any fear of him breaking things. Also I had to buy him a puppy. After the run in with Adam and his beast at the park, every time we went out and saw a dog, Benji wanted to play with it and he cried when the dogs had to go away. Leslie said I was spoiling him, but I didn't care. I couldn't bear his tears and I told her it was an early birthday present for him. And then I had to go on this stupid blind date Leslie set me up with. And one Luce set me up with. In less words, basically I was stressed.
Wyatt texted me again, and again, and again until I finally snapped and marched to Adam's office with my blood boiling.
"What the hell do you want Wyatt?" I growled entering without knocking. I froze when I saw that there were three people in the room. There was a girl sitting on Adam's desk. My jaw had the urge to unhinge itself, but I pressed my lips together and stared. My initial assumption was that she was Adam's girlfriend(she was way to classy to get involved with Wyatt), but after some observation I decided that they had to be related. At first glance they looked nothing alike, She had ruby hair and piercing green eyes like emeralds glistening in the sun, but her face structure was similar to Adams's and like him, she was impossibly beautiful. She didn't have his eyes though, they were one of a kind."Ah, hello?"
The girl laughed and waved. "Hi. I'm Elle Billings." She said, with a southern accent, confirming my assumption and jumping down from the desk. She was tall, my height actually. It was refreshing to see someone who wasn't a guy my height. I stuck out my hand to shake and smiled at her.
"Nice to meet you. I'm-"
"Cassandra Dalton." She said with a smirk. "I know who you are and sorry about Wyatt I just wanted to meet the woman in person who has all the men in my life so enamored with her."
"Um, excuse me?" I asked, confused. Who were all these men she was talking about? I could barely get the man I liked to acknowledge me.
"You're all Wyatt and my brother can talk about these days." I looked at Adam, hope blooming like a summer daisy in my heart. He talked about me? "And my fiancee is completely smitten with you." She told me with a somewhat bitter tone. That drew my attention back to the girl in front of me.
"What?" I gasped. How could anybody be smitten with me when they were engaged to her? "Who's your fiancee so I can kick his ass?" I asked bluntly and earned a laugh from everybody in the room. Elle looked at Wyatt and grinned.
"You're right, she is feisty." She looked back at me. "I like you and to answer you question his name is Michael." The way she said it, made me think she knew that I knew the person she was talking about. Hmm the only Michael I knew was-
"Anderson?" I gasped and she nodded. When did Michael get Engaged? How come I didn't know this? Leslie was going to get it when I got home. "How come he didn't tell me?" I was a little hurt. Michael was my first boyfriend and my best guy friend. He was always overseas, so I didn't see him much, but still. This was something that was at least worth a phone call.
"Oh don't be mad at him, it just happened yesterday." Elle waved her left hand in front of my face and I saw the iceburg she called a diamond on her ring finger.
"Damn, you can't even see where the titanic hit it." I said, awed. Elle laughed and Wyatt and Adam joined in. I looked up and saw him smiling at me. I smiled back and tried to stop my heart from fluttering. I decided to get over my crush on him, but it was proving to be harder than I thought it'd be. Every time his ever changing eyes locked on mine, I felt myself sinking deeper in my growing feelings.
