"Why don't you just have his party at my house?" Wyatt said. We were in my brand new Cherokee jeep (or the mom car, as I called it) on my way to find a puppy for Benji. I was hoping it would be just Adam and I, but Wyatt invited himself alone and I couldn't find a good enough reason for him not too. I was supposed to be getting over Adam remember? They actually fought to getting to the back seat to sit with Benji, but I told them I was taking Benji to my mom's because I didn't want him to know about the puppy yet. It was a week and a half to his party and I still hadn't found a place to have it.
"What?" I asked, looking at him in the rear-view mirror.
"I said, have the party at my house." He repeated. "We can even make it into a pool party, I just got it cleaned."
"Are you sure?" I asked, when we got out at the fifth pet-store today. It was actually not a pet store, it was a dog breeding place, but all the previous pet-stores did not have a wide variety of dogs.
"Sure, I love Benji and my sister and her kids are at my house. As long as you're cooking, you're always welcome." He smirked and I grinned at him and launched myself, hugging him and kissing him on the cheek.
"Wyatt you're really starting to gain some love points from me." I said as we walked in. There was a young clerk on her phone, smacking away on her gum, but she looked up when the bell jingled as we walked in and her gum fell right out of her mouth. She held her phone away and I could hair frantic sounds from the reciever before she abruptly slid it shut. The tag on her smock said Hope; pretty ironic name for the way she looked. She had more piercings than I could count and her hair was cut in a thick pageboy, but dyed completely navy. I liked her already.
"U-Um, c-can I help you?" She asked practically drooling over Adam and Wyatt. I didn't blame the poor girl, they were sculpted of marble.
"Yes, Can you show me your puppies?" I asked sweetly drawing her attention from the two handsome men behind me. She stared at me, probably wondering how someone like me could be friends with them. I sighed, I didn't even know the answer to that question.
"Sure," Hope said, pushing back her short hair. "Follow me."
She led us to the back and the closer we got, I head barks and whines of puppies and grinned. There were a huge selection of puppies, some small and some bigger.
"What type of dog were you looking for?" She picked up a cute looking fur ball and handed it to me. I reached for it, but it snapped at me and I took my hands back quickly. "Not Pomeranian, I guess." She laughed and I scowled at Adam and Wyatt as they joined in.
She left us to our own devices after a while, letting us play around with the puppies and making sure we didn't let them run around.
"Cassie, what about this one?" Wyatt asked, picking up a dog with drooping ears. Beagle, I think. He almost looked like a child, snuggling the beagle puppy close.
"No. I want a dog that's going to grow big." I rejected him and looked around for something that Benji would like. I hated small dogs with a passion. They either had too much anger wrapped up in their small bodies or too much energy.
"I would have thought you didn't like big dogs, the way you despise Jax." Adam commented, making me turn to him. I almost giggled at how cute he looked hugging a big dark dog with shaggy fur. (A/N my neighbor has a dog like this. It is called a Newfoundland Weird Ikr!)
"I don't despise your dog, I actually love her, she just licks a little too much." I put my hand to my face, almost as if I were remembering Jax's slobber on it.
"Well the feeling is mutual. It's weird because she hates other females around me. Even my sister." He chuckled like he was remembering something and I continued to look around. "By the way how was your date?" Adam suddenly asked and I cringed. God, this man was slow. My date was the last thing I wanted to talk about with him.
