in case you've all forgotten how Violet looks like, her picture is at the right side
***
Violet looks so happy with the Pavlova I got her. I had to sneak in into the kitchen and plead to the chefs to make em for me. Feeling desperate, I used Jude's name. I know, I know. It's wrong but the bakery shop in campus is closed and today really calls for a special celebration.
"Is it good?" I asked, worried if the chefs felt like avenging me for making them do extra work.
She nods repetetively. That's Violet for you. She gets all child like whenever she gets desserts she loves. I pass her a napkin when I saw a bit of cream on her lips.
"How on earth did you get these?" she shrieked like a little child.
Her reaction reminded me of Cij. I smile at the resemblance.
"That's a secret," I huffed.
"Fine by me but do you think you could get me more of these??" she begged.
"Already stocked 10 more in your fridge."
Yes, we have a mini fridge back in our room. Violet bought it a month ago. Said it will come in handy. She sure was right.
"Thank you!" she got up and tackled me into a hug.
To my surprise, her hand never left my waist. But I don't mind. She's always been this affectionate with me.
"So how are you doing?" she suddenly asked.
"No. Today's about you. So let's not talk about me," I insisted.
"How's your Dance club going?" I changed the subject, much to her delight.
Her eyes sparkle as she talks about it. This is really her passion. I'm so happy for her. All those years she had to work to support her and her mum so she never really had a break. Modelling is fun to her but that's not what she wants to do. Now, at 16, she's got more money than a 40 year old does. So she doesn't have to worry about money and can focus on her dreams.
"I think some girls don't like me," she said sadly.
"Well, who would? Coz this girl just walks in and steals the spotlight. Not only she's a beauty but a talented and committed dancer as well," I responded.
That gets her blushing and distracted from the jealous girls. I pity her. It must be hard being a pretty face. People would always assume you got here because of the looks when it's not. Violet is one of the most diligent people I've ever known. She pays for her own school fees, supports her mum and sacrificed a lot. She's like Ren McCormack from Footloose. People think they're a badass but no one knows the agony they had to go through. The best thing is that they're not self-destructive. No judging to others who do, but Violet and Ren have more reasons to turn to alcohol and drugs but they didn't. They both take out the negtivity through dancing. What's there not to be amazed by this girl?
"You're thinking," she noticed.
"Yeah, about you."
Her grin couldn't be bigger.
"What are you thinking about?" she blushed.
"Violet, you're one of the nicest people I know on this planet. And I know you want people to like you. But that's the thing. Not everyone would because of this thing called jealousy. But I hope you keep on being you and not let them pull you down. You've gone through shit no one knows about except for me and your mum. So they don't have a right to judge you and you shouldn't let them," I told her.
