When I woke up, the sun was pouring into my room and I was alone. I slowly opened my eyes. My body was less sore today than it was yesterday. Minjun was over at my machines, taking notes on his clipboard. He turned to me.
"Good morning. How are you feeling?" He asked.
"A lot better." I responded.
My voice was a lot less hoarse than yesterday.
"That's good." He said.
He paused for a moment.
"I'm having some food brought up to you. Once you eat, we can let you go home." He said.
I nodded and smiled. He sat the bed up a little and left the room. I took a deep breath and winced. I looked up at the ceiling. A few moments later, the door opened. I looked at the door and saw a nurse with a tray of food. She set the food on a rolling table and then rolled the table over my bed. She then exited the room.
I started to eat. I ate slowly, careful not to hurt myself. After about thirty minutes, I had finished eating. As if on cue, Minjun walked into the room to check my monitors.
"I called one of your friends from yesterday to come and take you home. They'll just have to sign a few papers and then you can go home." He said.
I nodded. He turned to me and set his clipboard on the bed. He carefully took the cannula out of my nose and turned off the oxygen. I took a breath of the hospital air while he took the tray off the table and rolled the table to the far wall of the room. He then exited the room, closing the door behind him.
I stared at the ceiling. It felt weird to breathe without oxygen constantly flowing into my nose. It was like a crutch had been taken away. It took me a minute to get used to breathing on my own again.
After a while, the door opened again. Namjoon walked into the room smiling. I smiled back at him. He walked over to my right and planted a kiss on my forehead. Another person walked into the room, a woman this time. It was Jin. He walked over to the foot of my bed.
"How are you feeling?" He asked.
"Better." I replied.
"That's good." He said enthusiastically.
Minjun and a female nurse walked into the room. They walked to my left bedside.
"How are feeling?" He asked.
"Better." I replied.
"Good." He said with a smile.
He looked up at Namjoon and Jin.
"We are requiring a week of rest. She can walk around but no heavy lifting and no physical activity, that includes dancing. I recommend that you always have someone with her to monitor her, just as a precaution." Minjun said.
"Thank you." Namjoon said.
"I'm going to need one of you to sign paperwork while she gets changed." Minjun said.
"I'll sign." Namjoon said.
Minjun and Namjoon walked toward the door. Minjun pulled the curtain around my bed to give me privacy. I heard the door open and close. Jin placed the bag on the end of the bed and walked over to my left bedside. The nurse started to unhook my IV. Once the IV was out, she wrapped my elbow in a little bit of gauze. She took off the pulse monitor on my finger and then started taking off the electrodes on my chest. Once I was unhooked from all the machines, the nurse laid my bed back and helped me sit up. Once I was upright, Jin pulled out the clothes he brought for me. Jin stepped behind the curtain while the nurse carefully helped me get dressed. With every movement, my muscles ached.
