Dallys POV

Sylvia had been over a few times in the past few days, it was good having someone like her around. A distraction. But not from the world this time, but  distraction from people in the world, more specifically Y/n.

I missed her, the gang wouldn't tell me anything about her. It was as if they don't remember her. I knew she was at the Curtis house though, we ain't allowed to slum around there anymore. Well at least when I'm there we ain't.

Man did this ever suck. One of the only people I cared about was gone. The other being Johnny who barley even looked at me now, as if I did something wrong. What could I have possibly done. Course I hadn't asked Johnny yet.

Without thinking I slide off of the barstool and walk out the front door of Buck's without any explanations.

"Where are you going?" Sylvia calls after me running to the front door.

"Out." I snap and shove my hands in my pockets. Man was it ever cold, Johnny must be freezing. I saunter over to the lot where Johnny is huddled against a tree shivering with his eyes closed.

"Jesus kid, whatta doin man?" Nudge him with my foot and he instantly opens his eyes.

"Hey D-Dal."

"Cmon kid, we don't need you catching a cold or some shit." I pull him up and don't take no for an answer. I pull him along down the sidewalk. His arm like ice.

When we get back to Buck's I pass Sylvia on my way upstairs to my bedroom, who was teasing some blonde kid and smiling smugly. I just scoff and continue upstairs dragging Johnny along with me.

"Dal." Johnny says quietly. I ignore him and mumble things under my breath while looking for an extra blanket.

"Dal." Once again I am oblivious.

"Dallas!" He shouts which draws my attention.

"Yeah kid whats up."

"You're just freaking me out thats all." He pulls his jacket tight around him.

"Sorry." I toss him a thick wool blanket, and he wraps himself up.

"You're staying here tonight." He opens his mouth to argue.
"And I ain't taking no for an answer." He shuts it.

"How come you're outside anyways? Darry finally get sick of ya?" I joke.

"No, overcrowding. He said I could stay but I figured it would be easier if I stayed out here."

"Is Y/n over there?" I look down at my scuffed up boots.

He doesn't say anything but looks down too.

"I thought so." I nod. "Is she okay?"

"Why don't you talk to her yourself?"

"Do you really think she wants to see me?!" I snap but instantly regret it. "I don't think so." I say quietly.

"You don't know that Dal."

"Johnny, there are many things on this world I don't know but that ain't one of them."
