Chapter 43

Dallys POV

I resist the urge to hand her a beer knowing how well that went last time.

The gang headed out giving us a bit of privacy.

"You look bigger." I regret saying it like that immediately after it came out of my mouth. "I didn't mean it like-"

"Its okay Dal I knew what you meant." She gives a small smile and lays a hand on her tummy.

She was beautiful. I couldn't help but stare at her. Sure Sylvia was pretty but she was  nothing compared to Y/n.

"The gang took me to the hospital today." She looks up at me. "I got these."

I plop down on the couch next to her and place one hand on her thigh. She pulls something out from her back pocket and hands them to me.

I look at them for a sec. "What is it?" I ask confused.

She laughs lightly. "That's our baby."

My heart flutters.

"I don't see it."

She laughs again and scoots closer. "Right there. That's the head."

"It looks weird."

"Its not developed yet. Didn't you ever have sex ed."

"Yeah but I only stayed for the good parts." I waggle my brows at her. She pushes my arm playfully.

"What I'm serious."

"You're a dork."

I look her in the eyes. She was hard to read. I was normally really good at being able to tell what people are thinking, but recently Y/n has been closed off.

"What are you thinking about?" I ask quietly.

She runs a hand through her hair. "A lot."

"Talk to me doll."

"This baby is gonna change everything Dal. I haven't graduated yet, you dont have a job and I'm scared you're gonna leave me."

"Baby. This is something the two of us did. Me and you. I would never leave you to deal with this on your own." I pull her close to me, and hold her in my arms.

She smelt exactly how I remember. I rub her back soothingly like my mother used to do for me.

"My dad was a deadbeat. But I sure as hell wont be." I kiss her unbruised cheek. Hot tears fall down them but I pretend not to notice.

She hums softly and I pull her into my lap. And we stay like that for hours.
