WATERMELON

What is the first thing that pops up to your mind reading that word? I imagine an uncut watermelon, the green shell of the fruit. While some imagine the sweet red gem inside making all of us drool uncontrollably. (Or some might think something entirely else if you know what I mean.)

FUN

You might think of a night out with your friends, where you go to the fanciest restaurant in your vicinity, while daddy pays for it. You chat amiably with your old friends about the good old days. While I think of gaming at 3 A.M, landing that sweet headshot from 200 meters away.

WEIRD

The first thing that I think of is someone who is like Neo, a test subject refusing to accept the program, one who is against the conventions, a legend to be followed. What you think might be a very strange looking girl, with her weird clothes and haircut in the calculus, mostly silent, living in her own world. (There's not much of a difference here. Maybe I should've used a better example.)

When you hear a word like the examples above a picture of what you think I'm referring to appears in your mind. I say sex, you think missionary, I think that section In the passport determining your gender.

The main problem in our relationships are the misunderstandings. Sometimes we don't have the right picture in our minds. Where we fail to understand and receive the picture, and think of something way worse than originally intended.

"Honey, I met someone very interesting at work today."

It's those pictures that make us talk and ultimately make the language. And language has helped us communicate with one another, unite, and subsequently build civilizations out of nothing. Truly the greatest tool at our disposal. But as all things, it's not perfect, by any means. Some concepts or words can be easily conveyed through the use of language because everyone interprets it more or less in the same way. Watermelon at most can be used for describing one particular part of a woman's body.

But there are words and concepts that have almost infinite pictures, everyone views it differently, cause humanity still hasn't got a firm grasp on it. Such as happiness, love, goodness, evil and the virgin Mary. You might think of your school's bully as an act of evil, while I think of my mother's deed 19 or some years ago.

And yet again words are just a bunch of jumbled up letters. The word "hello" could've been "leho". There's no inherent meaning to these words. I call you an asshole I am simply flirting with you while you get offended.

I use the example bar as a place of distraction to wash away our insecurities, where we could get indulged by the great gods of indulgence In the simple pleasures of existence, while you see a place with walls around it and the stink of alcohol.
