We finally make it outside and I bury my face farther into the collar of my jean jacket in an attempt to keep warm. I didn't realize how cold in was in the middle of February.
By this time, all three of us had stepped inside the Post. The line was very short, with only two families in front if us that I didn't recognize. For only a couple minutes we stood there until we reached the counter.
"Name?" asks the lady.
"Perce." My mom replies.
"How many... And who?"
My mom scans us, and says," uh, 8."
"Names?"
My mom eggs us, in turn to say our names.
" Peter. 2 please."
" Tate. 2 also."
" uh, Madylyn. 2?"
As usual, I'm the nervous stuttering one. But nobody but me seems to realize it.
"Molly, and Steph. Both 1."
"Would that be all?" The lady asks with a small smile.
"Yes. Thanks!"
We head back outside and find it is flurriying.
