"This place is nice!"

Dove was zooming around the room we got from an Inn. After looking around the city, we managed to find an Inn.

Once I ordered a room, we checked it out. There was one bed, a chest next to the bed, and a dresser.

There was a candle lamp on the dresser along with a strongbox. I didn't have a use for a strongbox, so I didn't pay much attention to it.

We got the room, so I intend to get some sleep, but my body is wide awake. Where did I get all this energy?

Maybe I should explore the city some more. That should help tire me out.

Once I came to a decision, I headed for the door.

"Ayato, where are you going?" Dove asked.

"I'm going to look around the city again. I'll be back, so stay here."

Dove stared at me for a few seconds but allowed me to leave. Alright, time to do some more exploring.

It was the middle of the night, so it was hard to see. Even with the candle lampposts all around the city, there were a few areas that were completely dark.

Judging from a few suspicious people, I can tell that the crime rate is higher at night. Maybe it wasn't a good idea to explore the city while it's dark out.

I mean, it's highly unlikely that I'll get mugged or something. Even if someone tries to rob me, it's not like I'll allow it.

As I look around the dark city, I noticed that more and more shady people started to appear. Not only that, but they were looking at me as if I was the suspicious person.

Please tell me that they're not going to try and steal from me.

If they do, then it's only going to lead to alot of trouble. I'd rather avoid anything that's going to cause me problems.

Since the eyes of the suspicious people didn't stop staring at me, I decided to walk around on the roof. I went to an empty alley and jumped.

Once I landed on the roof, I looked around some more. I didn't have any enhanced sight abilities yet, but thanks to my new body, I don't need it.

Ever since I was reborn, my physical abilities were astounding. Even without my animal abilities, I was far better than your average human.

I'm faster, stronger, more agile, and more. You could tell since I was able to jump on a three-story building with ease.

My senses were acute than before as well. The animal abilities like my hearing and sense of smell just made it more unbelievable.

Some people would consider me a god or a demi-god, but I don't think I am. Hell, I'm not even immortal, so it's not like I can't die.

If I went up against a god, then I'll be killed in an instant. So, it's clear that I'm not some all-powerful god.

Even if someone else had this power, they wouldn't be a god either. But, their arrogance and inflated ego would get the best of them.

they would go so far that they would build a city and act as a god.

An inflated ego can do some unspeakable things.

Out of nowhere, I started to hear people's conversations.

"Did you do the job?"

"Yeah, that bastard didn't know what hit him."

"Good. With that guy out of the way, we'll be able to take it easy."

It sounds like those guys just did an assassination job. I was about to turn off my enhanced hearing until I got interested a few of discussions.
