"Huh?!"
Both Ms. Rogue and I exclaimed at the talking Wolf's suggestion.
"There's no way I'd work with her!"
"Unfortunately, I agree! Grace, what you're suggesting is a terrible idea!"
Although we're at odds with each other, it seems that we can honestly agree on something. It's giving me the shivers.
[Look, I understand that you two hate each other's guts, but you need to see the bigger picture here.]
"No way! I'd choose death than working together with this idiot!"
"Who are you calling an idiot, Ninja Girl?!"
"You, forest freak!"
Once again, we were both glaring at each other with extreme hatred. Suddenly, the wolf named Grace snarled at us.
[Enough!]
Her outburst caught our attention, and we listened to her.
[Good grief. I can understand this quarrel of yours, but there are a time and place for that. Unfortunately, this isn't the current time and place for your little dispute!]
Neither of us said anything. All we did was listen and didn't speak out of turn.
Geez, this wolf reminds me of my grandmother. Is this what Ninja Girl has to deal with all the time?
[Now then. Since both of you have business with Marcus, the only way for you two to get what you want is to cooperate with each other.]
We continued to remain silent until Grace allowed us to speak.
[As of now, you two will work together and help each other, so that you two can get to Marcus. Since it's decided, there's no room for debating over it. Understand?]
"Understood." We both finally said.
Grace's face then shifted from a scolding mother's face to a happy dog's face. I feel like I've lost a battle.
[Good! Let's be off then!]
Grace then walked towards the door. Both Ninja Girl and I had no choice but to follow her.
Before we left the room, the little ninja girl decided to give me one last death glare before exiting. I didn't have the energy to glare back or even care.
[Young Lady, how many enemies do you think are left?] Grace asked the Ninja girl.
"Not sure. Judging from how big this mansion is and how many enemies we took down, I say about seven to nine enemies left."
[Wonderful observation! The only question now is are you correct?]
"I can help with that." I broke into their conversation.
[Really, Forest Guardian?]
"Yeah, I can call some animals to scour the mansion. They can tell us how many enemies are left." I explained.
"How come you haven't used it yet?" The Ninja girl asked me.
"Hmm, I guess because I haven't considered it."
Both the wolf and ninja girl was shocked. Hey, I'm still new at this so give me time!
Ignoring their shocked expressions, I called some insects to do some inspecting. I mostly called ants and small bugs since they can avoid detection.
Once the insects finished scouring the area, they gave me a full report of the locations of all the remaining enemies.
"Alright, there's about eight enemies left. They're also all on the second floor." I told Grace and Ninja girl.
