Marie's POV
I wake up to Shawn's arms wrapped around me, he's still sound asleep. I gently free myself from him and head to the bathroom. Thank God I don't have to work today. I brush my teeth and get dressed. When I walk back into my room, he finally opens his eyes.
"Hey," he says, his voice sleepy.
"Hey, you hungry?" I ask him.
"Yeah, but don't worry about it. You like IHOP?" he asks.
"Yeah, I do." I smile.
"We'll have to stop by my apartment first."
We take his car to his apartment and I stay in the car while he goes in to change. He comes back out wearing a plain black t-shirt and jeans.
"So I'm guessing you're off today?" he asks me when he returns to the car and starts towards IHOP.
"Yeah, and I'm glad."
"Yeah, me too," he says winking at me. When we get to the restaurant, we are seated in a booth in the very back. We order the same thing, two pancakes, with a side of bacon and eggs.
"Thanks for coming back lasts night by the way," I tell him after a couple seconds of silence.
"Well thank you for letting me stay. It was pretty entertaining seeing you like that though," He told me, laughing.
"Well I haven't had a drink in a while okay, sorry." I admit, hiding behind my hands.
"Don't apologize! It was cute the way you laughed at everything."
"Yeah well, I don't even know why I drink! I can't hold alcohol for anything,"I tell him. He just shakes his head. We eat in comfortable silence and he pays the bill and we leave.
"So what do you want to do?" he asks me pulling out of the parking lot.
"We could go walk around Times Square if you want." I love looking at all the stores.
"Times Square it is," He finds the nearest parking garage and we start our way through the busy city.
"So, you guys are going back to New Jersey?" His question surprises me a little, how does he know about that? I guess the look on my face explains my confusion.
"I heard you guys talking about it at dinner," he explaines. Duh.
"Oh yeah, we are. We really love it down there."
"That would explain the accent. How come you didnt tell me that before?"
"I don't know. When you asked the first time I didn't really know you then. And after that, didn't think about it until we had dinner with the girls."
"Well you can tell me anything, you know that right?"I smile and lace my fingers through his as we continue our walk.
"Shit," I hear Shawn whisper. I look around but I don't see anything out of the ordinary.
"What is it?"
"Ohh its uhh nothing. Let's just go this way." He leads me around a corner and and starts picking up the pace.
"Shawn," I hear someone call behind us. I turn around but Shawn yanks my arm and we stumble into an Aropostale clothing store.
"LaShawn what is going on?" I ask him.
"It's...it's my dad."
"You're running from your dad? Why?"
"It's a long story but we need to stay out of sight for a little bit okay?"
