LaShawn's POV
I completely forgot about her moving away. I'm getting myself in way too deep just so she can leave me.
"No, reason. Just wondering." I don't want her to feel guilty about this. I could tell that she wasn't buying it but we had arrived at the amusement park and I got out before she could press the conversation further.
"You not scared to ride anything are you?" I tell her, only joking.
"I'm not a little bitch, if that's what you're asking," she says and she grabs my hand and we walk to the ticket booth.
"That's not even what I meant," I say, laughing.
"Whatever. Two tickets please," she tells the cashier, rolling her eyes at me. She starts to pull her money out of her wallet but I beat her to it.
"Shawn, I got it!"
"No...it looks like I got it now," I tell her and grab our tickets.
"Quit doing that, I have my own money."
"I know, but I like spending my money on you," I tell her and kiss the back of her hand. "It's only because I love you."
"Yeah, well I love you too," she says and we head to the line of the first ride we see. It's short so we only end up standing there for 5 minutes.
"Please keep your hands and feet inside the car at all times please. Enjoy the ride." The ride started seconds later, and Rie was already screaming. The ride goes upside down and she's clinging to me like she's about to die, but her laughter contradicts all of that.
"I thought you weren't scared," I tease her when the ride ends.
"I wasn't! For one, I could not stop laughing. Besides, I heard you screaming a little bit too!"
"That...wasn't me! That was the dude in front of me," I lie.
"Yeah, okay. You want anything from the concession stand?" She asks me.
"Nah, I'm good." I walk to sit at one of the picnic tables and wait for her to come back to me.
"She won't be coming back to me for long." I say to myself. What in the world am I going to do. I can't ask her to stay here with me, I don't want to be that guy.
"LaShawn?" I turned to see this girl that looked oddly familiar.
"Brittany?" I finally recognized her.
"What you doing here?" She asked me.
"Im, uhh, here with someone," I tell her. The thing about Brittany is that we used to mess around a while ago. She was a lot of fun but not anything I could commit to.
"Oh, well I've missed you, where you been?" she asks me.
"Umm, here I guess. I never left."
"Well, what are you doing later tonight we can..." That's when Marie walked up, cutting her off.
"Umm, hi, I'm Marie," She says introducing herself.
"Brittany." She didn't look to happy to see Marie.
"Um, Shawn, are you ready to go? I wanted to get on the rides at the other end."
"Oh, yeah. Well Brittany, it was...cool seeing you again," I say and turn away towards the other end of the park.
"So that's it Shawn? You just gunna leave me for some trick?" Brittany says, making me stop dead in my tracks.
"Excuse me?" I turn to face her again. I look at Marie but she doesn't seem the least bit fazed by her words.
