LaShawn's POV
I woke up to a tapping on the window. I looked to see Marie. I unlocked the doors and she got into the drivers seat of the car. Neither one of us say anything. I look at the clock to see that I've been out in the car for 2 and a half hours.
"Why'd you come?"
"Why'd you stay?" She retorts quickly.
"I was scared."
"Scared of what?"
I sigh. "Marie, I've done nothing but caused trouble, put your life in danger. Maybe we should just let this go."
"No, Shawn. You don't get to do that. How does that make me look?! How I stayed by your ass this whole time but you still wanted to just let me go. That makes me look fuckin' stupid!" She yells, tears escaping her eyes. "But if that's what you want then fine." She says, and gets out of the car, and goes back into the hotel.
I feel terrible. I don't want to leave her but I don't want her to get hurt. I get over to the drivers side and start the car. I contemplate beginning the drive home but I'm too tired, I'd never make it.
"Just you?" The girl behind the desk asked me.
"Yeah."
"Well you call if you need anything." She says, winking at me. I just roll my eyes and walk up to my room. I take off my clothes and climb into the bed. I try to go to sleep for a good 10 minutes but give up. I'm extremely tired but I'm angry at myself and worried about Marie. I pick up my phone to call her, knowing it's a terrible idea, but not caring.
"What?" She asks when she picks up the phone. Her voice is horse, from crying.
"Are you okay?" I ask. I hate myself for making her feel like this. I'm supposed to be the one that wipes the tears away, not cause them to fall.
"Im fine. What do you want?"
"Marie, I'm sorry. I really am. I still love you, I just need to get myself together."
"That's what you said last time Shawn."
"I know, baby. Just...just give me time."
"Shawn, I'm not waiting around for you."
"I'm not asking you to." She doesn't say anything for a long time. I can hear her breathing, but she doesn't say anything.
"Come here," She finally says, and hangs up. I hesitate but of course I give in and make my way up to her room. When I get there, I think of something to say before I knock on the door. It opens before I get a chance to come up with anything.
"What were you waiting for?" She asked.
"Uhh, I don't know." I walk in and sit on the couch. Instead of sitting beside me, Marie straddles my lap.
"I really hate that we can't be together." She says before putting her lips on mine. I don't stop her. I've been wanting to touch her for so long. I kissed her back, sliding my hands down to her hips, pressing her closer to me. I trailed kisses down her neck, making her moan softly. Her hands found their way down the front of my pants, making me moan in return. Our toungs rolled around eachother, her hips moving against mine.
"Be careful." She says breaking our kiss and removing herself from me entirely. She goes into the bedroom and closes the door, leaving me in the room lost and confused. Eventually I get up and leave to go back to my own room. I climb into bed, ready to sleep, wanting the day to end.
