LaShawn's POV
"Did you find out where they were staying," I ask Zeke.
"Yeah, they are on the south side of China Town. I had Tyrone and Chris follow them," he informs me.
"Thanks man, and about the white?"
"I know a nigga in Brooklyn. He can get us the hookup. Meet me here tomorrow night at 11:30. They should have it here by then." That's my nigga Zeke. Always there when you need him.
"Thanks man, I'll see you then. And tell Tyrone and Chris to hold off on Steven and them. If this deal can get them out of my face, then so be it,p" I tell Zeke and head back to my car. I'm so ready for all of this to be over. I miss Marie and I hope she misses me too.
I head home to get ready for work tomorrow. I'd much rather hang with Marie but I can't keep doing this to her.
When I get to my place, I call Dev.
"Hey, bruh, tell Mr.Huskey that I was sick yesterday and this morning and I couldn't come in."
"Ok,whats really going on with you though Shawn?"
"Don't worry about it Dev. I'll be in tomorrow."
"Whatever you say man." After I get off the phone I take a shower and go straight to bed. As I'm falling asleep, Marie floats into my mind keeping me up.

I wake up to my stupid alarm and get dressed for work. It's the last place I feel like going but I have to. I can't afford being unemployed right now.
The drive to work is short and I'm there faster than I wanted to be. I walk in, not stopping to speak to anybody. I head to the break room but stop dead in my tracks when I round the corner.
"Pops?" My old man turns around. I haven't seen him since he left me and my mom 11 years ago.
"Hey LaShawn," he said, his tone serious.
"What the hell are you doing here? How did you find me?"
"I uhh, asked your mom. I went to see her today," I was getting angry now. He has the audacity to come here and see us after all this time?
"Why are you here?"
"I need to talk to you son."
"Okay, spit it out," I am already wishing he would just go back to where he came from.
"It's important. Is there somewhere where we can talk in private?" At first I don't say anything but I figured I might as well. The faster he says what he has to say, the faster he can get the hell out of my face. I lead him to the back and we sit at the table that Marie and I had dinner at a week ago.
"What is it?"
"I wanted to let you know that im moving back down here," he explains. I can't believe my ears.
"Okay...?"
"I want to start getting to know you son. I know I made the mistake-" I cut him off.
"No. There is no way in this world I will ever "get to know you". You left us. Obviously we weren't enough for you," I tell him, anger rising in my voice.
"I know son, and I'm sorry. I want to make it up to you." I can't believe him.
"Look. I'm fine. Mom is fine. And you can go back to wherever you came from. We don't need you and we sure as hell don't want you here." I stand. I'm done talking to him, and I have work to do.
"And don't you even think about going near my momma again," I tell him. He doesn't say anything, he just gets up and head towards the back door of the factory.
