LaShawn's POV
"Hey girl, where you goin'? Let me give you a ride shawdy!"
I looked around the corner and to the right of an alley. What I saw amazed me and worried me at the same time. There was the most beautiful darkskin woman with hair flowing down her back. What is a woman like this doing walking in the hood of New York City by herself?
"I know you hear me, bitch," The words had little effect on her but I wasn't having it.
"Hey! Have a little respect!" I yelled at the the guy that was following her. The woman kept walking but I wanted to make sure she got where she was going safely.
"Get the fuck out of the way. Let me do this," he said pushing past me. I waited until he was a couple feet away until I ran up behind him and grabbed the collar of his shirt and dragged him to the ground. I pinned his shoulders down and got in his face.
"I said have a little respect," I said through my teeth. I looked back and the woman was gone. I slowly got off of him, making sure he wasnt about to try anything on me.
"Go back to where you came from," I said pointing in the opposite direction of the woman. He turned away and stalked back down the busy street.
After I made sure he was gone, I jumped into my car and started looking for the woman. After driving for a couple minutes in the direction that she went, I find her standing in the doorway of a Forever 21. I park my car and head towards her.
"Hey, are you ok?" I ask her. At first she didnt realize I was talking to her.
"Ohh, yeah I'm fine. Are you the dude from 57th?" she asked me.
"Yeah thats me, LaShawn," I said sticking out my hand.
"Marie," She said taking my hand and shaking it.
"Did you, umm, need a ride somewhere?" I asked her. I didnt want her walking alone much longer.
She looked hesitant at first but I can tell she was about to give in.
"Umm yeah I do actually. Its not far from here, my apartment," she told me, pointing to one of the tallest buildings in town.
"Ok,well my car is this way," I say and escort her to the passengers side of my ride.
I hop in, start the car, and start driving. I dont have long and I have plenty of questions to ask her before we reach our destination.
