I think you've forgotten

The times we shared,

The twilight hours we tailored

Until we were bursting at the seams.

'

I think you've forgotten

The magnetic attraction,

And the hazy companionship

Glowing with your pride.

'

I think you've forgotten

That opposites attract,

But light and dark,

We slowly grew apart.

'

I think you've forgotten

The way the spark lit,

And your light chased me away

Until the fire died.

'

I think you've forgotten

How thoroughly the shadows embrace,

And what it feels like

When they hold you tight.

'

I think you've forgotten

That I'm of the night,

And the darkness sees all

But rarely forgets.

'

I think you've forgotten

But I've been here all along,

Watching and waiting with every smile

For your light to waver and finally flicker out.

I think you've forgotten.
