Normani's POV

I went to my first period, Science. I enjoyed science, for the most part. I wanted to take Honors Chemistry but my counselor put me in Advanced.. probably because she's a racist bitch. People who didn't even want Honors got Honors and I'm stuck in advanced. I'm tryna maintain a nice ass transcript and I have all Honors classes, and then bam.. the one I really wanted, I get advanced.

I sat down at my lab table and waited until the teacher was finished writing on the board. Today we were going to be mixing chemicals, which I loved to do.. but the boy next to me, Keaton is a handful. When we had to dissect a frog, he brought in a frog that was alive so that when I went to touch it, it scared the living shit out of me. He was basically like a bad boy to say the least. Was he cute? Hell yeah, but I'd never let him know that.

"Hey Kordei, ready to make something explode?!" He said swiftly sliding into the seat beside me.

"No Keaton. No more tricks. I just want to get this project done." I explained.

"I'll think about it." He smirked.

Oh god, this wasn't going to be good.

I cannot believe Keaton! I want to just punch him in the face sometimes!

"Miss. Kordei! I gave you strict instructions on what to do for this lab! This is exactly why we can't do fun things!" Mr. Davenport said sternly.

"It wasn't me!" I said defensively. I always got in trouble because of Keaton.

"Then who was it ? Because your table is the one that the smoke came from in the first place."

"It was Keaton, you know he's a troublemaker!" I exclaimed.

"Ah I see, both of you have detention with me for a week!" He yelled.

I sighed miserably and followed him through the crowd of students. Everyone had to evacuate the building because the smoke set off the fire alarms.

"Aye!"
"Thanks Kordei!"
"Bad Ass!"
"She did that?!"
"Bad Bitch!"
"I love her so much for that! Got my ass outta class!"

That's what I heard as I went through the lines of students crowding. Once we found Keaton, the teacher took attendance and next thing ya know we were both in the principals office.

"You two are ridiculous. Juniors in high school and still pulling these sick pranks. You're lucky I'm not suspending you. But there will be consequences. Your teacher has already discussed with me what he thinks is appropriate and I agree. To add onto that, you will go back and clean his room. Spotless, understood?"

"Hell nah! I ain't no maid."

"Yes, sir." I said rolling my eyes at Keaton's comment.

"We will be glad to help out, after all he- I mean we caused the destruction." I said before Keaton could say anything.

"Nope, I ain't doing this sh-"

"I suggest you listen to your friend here, she's trying to help you out." The principle smiled.

"Let's go Keaton." I said grabbing his arm and leading him down the hall.
