My Imagination

I expect to see a haunting face around the corner
I look behind me to make sure no one is following
I'm afraid to be alone in a large space, because it makes me feel too vulnerable

I come up with stories, intricately designed to entertain and inform
I create songs, written with expression and emotion
I write poems to show who I really am, to reveal that part of me that no one knows about or notices

My imagination
The ups and downs
The good and bad and the in between
It's my weakness, yet my strength
It's my joy, yet my sorrow
I don't know what I'd do without it
It releases me, fills me, over-joys me
It holds me, threatens me, kills me
This is my gift from The Holy One, and I intend to use it to please His Heavenly Majesty
