When you asked me if I was okay
I said "I'm fine"
When you turned away
I whispered "I lied"But you didn't hear it
My silent prayer
That you'd stay with me there
You just kept walking a bitUntil you turned around
You asked "what did you say?"
But I just answered "nothing"
You were already too lateMy ounce of bravery was gone
My brokenness had pushed me too far
Into the shadows of my own home
My mind
Destroyed by lies of mankindThose lies
Those hideous deceits
They tore into me
Until I was blind
To the beauty in my lifeThe darkness took over
The line no longer visible
Until all I could do to save myself
Was run into your arms
And hope for the best from a criminalAnd you saved me from myself
And from the darkness in my mind
You pulled me back into the light
So that I could live my life
And understand the concept of timeOnce again
No absence of mind
Not with you
Who have the key to my heart
Which you stole
With the sword of life
